  1. As noted above, if dot's are allowed they are basically required.

Please stop adding dot's to -all- of the divisions. We're getting back to where things were when folks left to create IDPA. Shoot your dot-equipped revo in open, the 2 other revolver shooters will know to look for you in the overall.

Between the belt and an 8-shot revo, it's already a couple grand to dabble in our division. USPSA needs to stop fooling with the divisions and let things settle out. People will come back to their old divisions when they get bored with their new toys.

Sorry but this is way off. I usually have about 2 hours longer in a full competition action job for a forged part gun than a MIM gun. I charge the same for both and I usually grimace when a forged part gun come in because I know I have to do extra work just getting the forged parts straighten out just to start a trigger job.

MIM parts are much more consistent than the old forged part guns.

I should charge more for a forged part gun but fortunately most competition guns coming in these days are newer guns with MIM parts.

This isn't too far off my experiences. That said, sometimes the new-style double action sears have a click that's fiddly to polish out. All the aftermarket hammers use the old sear design. The rest of the MIM parts are way more consistent.

    All,

I don't have any cool videos to show but I did want to hype up the Rocky Mountain Regional. Last year I drove 1700 miles to attend on a lark, I enjoyed it so much that I did the same trip again and I was not disappointed. Nice stages, smoothly run, bafflingly ample prize table, nice range, etc.

In 2024, if you're on the fence it going to it let this be your push.

Glad you had a good time, hope to see you again  next year.

Checked the cylinder gap and they are right at specs of .005.

That sounds on the tight side to me.

How much end shake do you have? End shake reduces cylinder to barrel clearance while you're pulling the trigger.

  5. I was going to recommend Mag-na-port but GG beat me to it. I've had a couple of the 360PDs done for customers. They have a similar barrel construction to the TR-8 and the work was well done. Call Mag-Na-Port and discuss the different porting options to  see if one will work for you.

It was the most boring PCC match I’ve ever shot.

Wasn't it just a pistol match where they allowed people to shoot a PCC? It there's one division that needs a stand-alone nationals, it's probably PCC.

As I get older, I find I need a deeper and wider notch along with a wider brighter front sight.

I need more light, but I find that a skinnier front is a better way to get it. The skinnier sight picture gives more feedback when shooting quickly.

For reference, I'm 52 and just got fit for my first set of bifocals.

I hope to see you all in Colorado on the last weekend of July

You may know something I don't, but a rear sight does not need to be clear. Mine wasn't at 30yrs. old, and is very fuzzy in my middle age now.

What sucks is when the front sight is not really clear anymore. and I'm getting there.

Some young folks at the very pointy end of our sport are advocating for shooting irons with a hard target focus and blurry sights. I don't know that I'm doing that yet, but I'm accepting a blurrier sight picture and it's not hurting my scores. When you focus on the target, it helps you pick an aiming point faster and it does help speed up transitions.

It was close to 90-something in 2016-ish when it was a separate 1-day match for Revolver. Many people who shot Single Stack on previous days stayed to shoot Revolver. I really liked that format of the Classic Nationals in PASA.

Meh, additional warm bodies at the back of the match add no value for me. I'd rather shoot multiple days on mixed squads like a real(tm) match.

  11. The 2022 ICORE Rocky Mountain Regional Revolver Championship will be held over the weekend of July 30th-31st at the High Plains Shooting Range in Galeton Colorado. https://goo.gl/maps/WkCV4jVMMMzrdeoZ9

    Registration is now open!

    https://practiscore.com/2022-icore-rocky-mountain-regional-revolver-championship/register

The ICORE match will be 8-9 stages shot in a single day format on Saturday the 30th. You must be a current ICORE member to participate.

On Sunday the 31st we will be holding a USPSA match where we will shoot the stages again with a few changes. Your ICORE match fee will include entry into this USPSA match as well. You're not required to shoot the same gun on Sunday, but there will be cash prizes for the top 3 shooters in revolver division. The match will be 6-shot neutral, so come out and shoot your old 625 with me. It'll save stuffing moon clips overnight.

Saturday's Awards ceremony will include a random draw prize table. Lunch on Saturday will be catered.

Come on out for a weekend filled with revolver shooting.

    This took some hunting ...

From the June 1985 issue of Front Sight, p.39 you can see an ad for the "New Florida 8" targets:

FS 1985-06 p39.pdf   If this doesn't load for you, go to https://uspsa.org/magazine/display//1985-06 and scroll to p.39.  This appears to be the target (different manufacturer) in the OP.

    image.thumb.png.c9ee8f42ff6b14513b1798a460d29012.png

It's out of the rulebook now, but looking at this target the whole "B zone as a Tiebreaker" thing makes more sense now.

Were the scoring zones scored with the same number of points as now? Major would have been an even bigger advantage with the little A and skinny D zones. That target is nearly all B/C

  13. The rules no longer define "relaxed at sides". Be careful enforcing your own definition of start positions. If other squads don't use your stricter definition it can get stages thrown out.

USPSA has a number of classifiers that need an updated WSB. I wish they'd focus on some of this stuff instead of the political crap.
