  1. Isn't powder coating much thicker than anodizing? Seems like it would be too thick, but I'm not sure... RDA - sweet! All the same color, or a mix? You'll have to report on how you like them. I still would like an "upgrade option, where I could send in my "normal" tool head and say $10 or $15 for an anodized version...
  2. I just don't like raw aluminum. I'd like to think the anodized ones "slide home" into the press(es) better...
  3. I love the new Dillon anodized toolheads! Any chance we can trade in un-anodized ones, (and pay a little) for an anodized one? I can dream, right?
  4. Yep they sell covers, but: 1.) $15 a pop plus shipping, so that'd be over $100 2.) way too big if you don't have a powder measure 3.) still get spider webs on the two covers I do have - looking for another solution
  5. So my reloading setup is in my garage/workshopshop - and I live on an avocado grove. So keeping out pests is a full-time problem, as is dust and dirt. Mice, lizards, black widows, etc. are always around. The cats keep the mice in check to a limited degree. I store things in 56qt Sterlite containers from Wallyworld, as well as tupperware and ammo cans. And, I found 4"x4"x4" cardboard boxes really cheap from U-Line - they make fantastic cast boolit storage. One thing I don't have, is a way to store tool heads, without them becoming magnets for spiders. I want it convenient, not tucked away in an ammo can. I'd like to know what others do and their techniques...? Bench photos are great too. Steve
  6. I have gone through all the troubleshooting documents I could find, and made sure I have everything just so, but I seem to have a problem with my new 650 and Varget powder. I have loaded a lot of VV 340 in 45 Auto and didn’t experience the issue. In a nutshell, every few rounds of 30-06, a little bit of Varget “sprinkles down” from the powder die all over everything. This happens woth a "delay" between cases, not as the case comes down from the die. It doesn’t seem to do it everytime I don’t reload too fast (I think) I have the failsafe rod adjusted per Dillon recommendation, I have the plastic plug in the measure, short side for 30-06 Thanks
  7. Thanks Paul, that worked...I was under the impression that I wasn't supposed to adjust that for some reason. No hangups now..
  8. Hello everyone, I am the new owner of a Dillon XL 650, with casefeeder, strongmount, aluminum handle, etc., setup for 45 ACP, delivered Thursday!!! I downloaded and read the manual before it arrived, and have been pouring over the forums as well. I haven't loaded anything yet, I am a setting it up making sure it is working right. I am trying to do a "dry run" and I am having problems with the cases not being dropped through the case feed body bushing, AND not making it to casefeed arm bushing. If the casefeed arm moved 1/16th of an inch more at both "ends" of travel, there would be no issues. I don't see anyhthing blocking the travel, but if I pull the arm just a tad towards the Casefeed Arm Stop Pin, the cses drop in. Again it is brand new and appears to be lubricated... So I am at a loss... Any ideas? Thanks!
