  1. Has anyone tried these out? I had never heard of the company before, but they’re claiming 25 rounds. https://acdteam.com/product/glock-basepad-full-set/
  2. I think there should be a lot more spot checks. I have seen/RO'd a lot of "confused" people who think 8+1 means 9 in the tube with an empty chamber start/staged gun.
  3. "Is there a place in our sport for rifle shots beyond 60 yards?" Yes there is. Is there a place for 600 yard rifle shots? Yes there is!. Striking a balance between close range, practical range, and long range is the key. Does shooting paper at 25 yards or closer make much sense for a rifle, I don't think so. But neither does pushing extreme distances in a action sport. So I would think the majority of rifle shooting should be between 75 and 400 yards. Short of that let the pistols and shotguns play and past that let the DM types play. All that said I love RM3G and wouldn't spend that much travel money to go anywhere that didn't have some LR!!!!
  4. I second Doug's opinion, I hit all the rifle targets at RM3G with PMC 55gr Xtac 5.56 it isn't the cleanest ammo but it shoots flat and accurately.
  5. This was 5th time at RM3G and I love it more and more every year! This was my first year with a pedometer. I walked/ran 9.06 miles per day average for Wednesday through Saturday. And that is as a competitor, so I cannot thank Denise, JJ, the staff, and the ROs enough! Can't wait for next year!
  6. I would do the following mods in this order. I would also do them one at a time with a lot of practice in between to see what helps the most. Quality trigger, comp, FF handguard, adjustable gas block, lightened buffer/JP SCS.
  7. Thanks floridadan. Any good USPSA in the tampa area?
  8. I am moving to the Tampa Area next month. Are there any good USPSA and 3-Gun clubs in/around town?
  9. I tried it, and liked it. It will do nothing if you already have a perfect trigger pull. If you don't it will help force you to have good finger placement, and a straight rearward pull.
  10. I have been using a vortex 2.5-10 for the long range NM matches where there is more long range targets than close paper. It really helps you pick up time. In berm shoots I use a 1-4, but I tend to avoid those.
  11. It sounds great so far! I may have to get an order in!
  12. Anyone know if it is going to have capped turrets or not?
  13. PMC Xtac 55gr is great stuff for shooting longer range, it's hot ammo. If your staying under 200yds save a couple bucks and get PMC bronze .223.
  14. It will probably run just fine. I load to about 130-134PF and haven't had a problem in about 7k rounds. In fact, it's starting to feel really good now! Save the spring/rod money for Dawson Sights or more components!!!
  15. While I can't offer any comments on the 9mm version the .45 seems to be surprisingly good quality. 6k rounds and counting with only 1 new recoil spring and some cold blue touch ups.
  16. The muzzle brake / comp is the missing link. I don't think there's any way around it.
  17. Certainly was a great match! Thanks to all the hardworking ROs and the rest of squad 3 for making it all run smoothly!
  18. I have a Vortex PST with uncapped turrets and to prevent any screw ups I installed the zero shims and aligned the fiber optic caps to point straight back. This way when I take my sight picture before a stage I can do a quick check to make sure they haven't been moved around.
  19. I have been using a 300yd zero, with a fast 55gr bullet, and a scope with 2 moa subtensions for three years now with really great results. It keeps the thought to a minimum since most targets are within 300 yards (even at my favorite match RM3G). Less holds to memorize means less time on the stage.
  20. I have a SCS on a 16in midlength with adjustable gas and it is extremely smooth and super fast, but I is not nearly as soft as my 18in rifle gas with standard spring and lightweight rifle buffer. Both have JP brakes. If anything I think it makes the recoil harder.....but it is smoother and faster feeling. You may have noticed I haven't picked a favorite setup yet.
  21. I switched from xm193 to PMC XTac 55gr about a year ago and just shot RM3G with them and hit every single rifle target our there. It's good to go out of my JP.
