  1. I was trying to ask "were they asked?". Poor wording, sorry...
  2. Ya know, I have grabbed the timer first, and other times I had just focused on some shooting issue I was dealing with. I know for a fact that I never have said "no" to a request to RO. Perhaps communicating with them instead of getting pissed would be a better idea?
  3. The nationals are only a couple weeks away. Maybe they wanted to focus on shooting? Did you ask them?
  4. It's near the end of monsoon season so 20%-ish is probably the max. Unless it's raining.
  5. The image below is from Bing maps. The red arrow shows North. There have been issues with the development to the northwest, and some of the bays will be reconfigured after the nationals. For now, this is the layout. The bay configuration and the local terrain don't allow lighting to be much of an issue. Not like east/west bays at that other place. 37.158036, -113.433766
  6. I have hidden some off-topic threads. Does anybody have more tips for Nik? Mine: This match is being held in the desert: Plan for rain
  7. We did this on Docter sights that were slide mounted on open guns. It did work but that was with some way old technology. I am pretty sure it was all discrete electronic components. If the new sights are using any sort of integrated circuits, it is probably a very bad idea.
  8. Take off the pick up tip and just hold the tube up into the VP. Works fine.
  9. He didn't say that it was all the force, but the rearward vector was more energetic than when the slide finally stops its reward motion after dumping energy into the recoil spring.
  10. I discussed this with my gunsmith after my 9 open slide cracked at the factory ejection port. He pointed out that the highest energy event in the firing cycle is when the round first fires and the base of the case slams into the bolt face at thousands of pounds of pressure. The slide is locked so this rearward force just stretches the slide. The likely weak point is the ejection port. Recoil, springs and buffers come into play later in the cycle. Makes sense to me... YMMV
  11. FWIW: Appendix E1 says " The primary magazine measuring device shall be the EGW mag gauge. "
  12. What game? The max lengths are different!
  13. moved to a forum that allows discussion A good friend is hunkering down for his first major storm since moving to SE FL. Good luck to all!
  14. Dunno. I am not a mag slut. I have SPS tubes tuned by Beven Grams. They just work.
  15. Load your mags and see if there is a gap between the top round and next to top round. If there is, your tubes need to be fixed in the area where they transition from double stack to single stack.
  16. Let me put my moderator hat on right here and say if this goes any closer to personal, it's closed. Be nice...
  17. So sorry, Guy. I went through this with my family and it is terrible.
  18. FWIW: Bob Vogel placed first in the 2011 IPSC World Shoot Production division using a G-17. (Under the old s#!tty trigger rules)
  19. Yes, they do : 5.1.10 Handguns with shoulder stocks and/or fore grips of any kind are prohibited (see Rule 10.5.15).
  20. If you can't zero, on the clock is probably gonna be worse...
  21. A — A score that is more than 20% above the member’s current classification bracket. It will be interesting to see what they say. Since your bracket ends at 40%, anything above 60% should be an "A". Let us know what happens. I have never done one of these personally as a too high score hasn't been a problem
