  1. Ok thnks!! It's going on an open gun and didn't want the weight. I've heard of problems with cracking on other aluminum grips. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'd be interested to try out the titanium one! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I really like the idea of a plastic one as well. Been wanting to swap my sti over for a while now. Do they make the evo grip in aluminum? Or steel only? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Excellent ideas! Keep em coming! Starting to get excited about this new build! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That's a nice looking gun!! I worked a trade with a local friend for an old caspian rail gun that was never fully finished. It currently has a kart 40 barrel in it. Nice fit and finish. But not really steel challenge material. Conversation started out like hey do you know where any old 1911 frames might be and he said well I've got a caspian. Lol! But for the price I've got in it can't go wrong! Here she is. Needs to be bead blasted again and finished. This is what happens when a gun sits for 14yrs in the white. 6. I guess my question on the 126 mags vs single stack mags is more has anyone compared shooting one in a single stack variation vs a 126mm mag sti based version as far as transition speed in relation to weight? Assuming one would underload the 126 mags. Thnks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I already have an sti edge I use for limited minor and mainly pro am style shooting. And also have a caspian slide on an sti frame with a bedell comp and bull barrel as my primary uspsa open gun. That's why I'm kinda curious about using 126mm mags in an sti compared to using a single stack 9mm built gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Awesome! Those were found from the inter webs. I'd like to find some more info on the first gun in pic. I'm told it's from the 90's. and how light is too light? What loads r u running in urs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That is one thing I've been toying with doing in a 4.5" shorty build. Here are some ideas I like. I think with a ti comp and modern optic the first one would be a good build. Possibly a caspian lightweight frame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Yes definately 9mm. I have thought about single stack but wondered if an sti running 140mm mags would be comparable in weight. We're also thinking running a shorty without a comp and only an island barrel with popple holes instead Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'm looking for ideas on building a designated steel challenge open gun. I've already got a sti bald slide and a grip. I still need a barrel and frame. Looking for pictures of others guns. This gun will be minor pf only. Going for extremely light and fast pointing. And another question is how light is too light? Does anybody run lightweight frames? Thnks! 13. That's the same barrel I got n mine. How many rounds thru it? I'm around the 50k mark. Now I did switch from mg 115 to some sns bullets and actually seen a velocity improvement. They r sized .356. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Wow! I've got 2-3/16" popple holes and a bedell comp on mine and mine run between 1500-1550 depending on temp. What brand is the barrel? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I run 8.7 with a mg115 at 1.158 without problems. I've never ran that short though. What comp does that gun have? Popple holes? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I'm running 8.7grns with 115g coated with a 1.158 oal out of a 5" STI with a bedell comp and 2-3/16" popple holes. Runs about 1500-1550 depending on the day. I've also ran serveral thousand mg115 with this same recipe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I've been running 8.7 of silhouette with a 115. Runs well with a bedell comp and 2-3/16" popple holes. What is every one else running with silhouette? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. We have a motorized larue target that is 1/2" ar 500 and falls when hit and powers itself up again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You guys are the best! Shoot straight and safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just wondering if an admin could get a sticky started like previous years so we can consolidate shooting events to better schedule. Thnks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. 10-4 sounds good guys! Thnks for the help! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  22. That's wat I'm running now. I thought they used standard 1911 mags. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  23. Looking for low weight. I'm wondering if the polymer would b lighter than aluminum or titanium. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  24. Does any have any experience with one. I know they don't make them any more. I'm wanting to build a shorty for steel challenge outta one if anybody has any leads on one. Thnks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
  25. It works kinda like a comp. It helps push straight down but does act like a shorter barrel as far as powder charge is concerned. I have a 5" sti in 9major and have a Bedell comp with 2 - 3/16" popple holes and it shoots very flat but is exceptionally loud and obnoxious. But it works good for me. Ymmv.
