Anyone make their own barrel shroud?
greatlakes08 replied to greatlakes08's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Muzzle brake would be okay with me. Do you know of one that’s 6 inches long on the market? -
Anyone make their own barrel shroud?
greatlakes08 replied to greatlakes08's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
I already have one. I want to have a 10 inch barrel and six inch shroud. -
I was looking at converting a pistol length PCC and making my own shroud and getting it pinned so I can run it as a rifle. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions on where to get materials? If someone knows where to buy one similar to what Taccom uses on their ULW barely I would definitely just buy one instead. It needs to have 9/16 -24 threads....

Lee's new brass processing machine
greatlakes08 replied to Tokarev's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
After running a few hundred rounds through the APP the case inserter seems to stick every once in a while and when it releases it launches the riser and the brass across the room. Im just using this press for 223 and 308 which should use the same riser so I was thinking about gluing the riser to the case inserter. Anyone think this is a bad idea? My cases are all clean also so no dirt on the case inserter track and the press is inside my house so dirt/dust shouldn't be an issue. I have seen some posts on other forums about using mineral oil, or silicone on the track to keep it running smoothly which I am going to try... -
Lee's new brass processing machine
greatlakes08 replied to Tokarev's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
I do not recommend the swagit. I tried it with my 650 and was very disappointed. I have not had the issue with the brass rings myself. Maybe adjust the swage punch some more on the APP... -
Lee's new brass processing machine
greatlakes08 replied to Tokarev's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
Got my setup going today and thought I would share a pic. I looked at purchasing the adapter mentioned earlier in this topic from eBay but I was able to make it work with some 3/4 pipe, 3/4 pipe flange and the 223 case feed adapter from my 650. -

Has anyone processed a large quantity of 223 brass with this machine yet? Does it do just as good of a job swaging the primer pockets as the Dillon 1050? I tried the Swageit with my 650 and it was a major let down... -
I was looking into installing a a hornady bullet feeder on my Dillon 650 but instead of using the hornady die I was going to use the MBF setup with the just the dropper die or the assembly with the microswitch. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know if the MBF microswitch runs off or 12v or is it 110v?

Can you supply a link to where you purchased. these from? do you have any issues with coated bullets?

I have spoken with the seller and it is in stock but it will take time to get here especially with the current situation going on. Im not in a huge hurry though.....

ELS Belt without using Inner Belt?
greatlakes08 replied to greatlakes08's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
I am glad to hear I wasn't the only one! I tightened mine down today and I think it will be fine as long as I don't pull a mag out wrong and it pulls the belt up... -
I bought a used Safarland ELS belt with the ratcheting buckle. When I tighten it up with the ratchet my inner belt forms an uncomfortable lump in it. I can tighten the inner belt more to avoid so much of a lump but that defeats the purpose of the ability to loosen up after the stage. Has anyone gone without using an inner belt ?

CMC launches new 9mm PCC trigger
greatlakes08 replied to Tampa-XD45's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
CMC trigger is the bet for reliability IMO. It is not the softest pull but it has a nice clean single stage break and has not let me down after at least 2000 rounds. -
I don’t think you will regret it at all. Better field of view and better glass on the swaro for sure.

Looks like a pretty awesome scope. I would like to put it on an AR10. I think for 3-gun 10X would be too much magnification and to adjust out to six or eight on the fly would cause you to lose time vs going straight to max power with a throw lever and not having to look at the dial.

Safariland 3-Gun Bag only $80 at Midway
greatlakes08 replied to Mercs's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
I have a 46 inch bag for 3 gun and just left the butt hang out. That’s a good deal for a nice bag. -
Does anyone know if there is a base pad made for the D60 to make it even more stable when shooting prone?

3-Gun Recession?
greatlakes08 replied to Blockader's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
3 gun is what got me into competition shooting and it is still my favorite shooting sport. I hated shotgun for many years and now a lot of clubs are offering a two gun option which is nice but once you have a shotgun that runs it is much more enjoyable. I also feel that for a time matches seemed to be heavy on shotgun stages vs rifle and pistol but now stages seem to utilize all three guns throughout the entire match at least around my area which I like. Overall I hope 3-gun continues to thrive and any recessions end soon! -
That is a good suggestion. I saw the belt on their website the other day but I couldn't see the buckle in the picture so I didn't look to hard at it. Having to drill holes for ELS is the only downside...

I saw a few people mention CLP. I spray it on then wipe off the excess. Is there a reason Lucas works better than CLP?
