Ok just measured the beveled hole on my older style Dawson sight at .040 with a blade at .100 The new one is .060 but with a blade at .115 I tried this to see if it helped with accuracy but it's more of a hindrance I'll email Dawson to see if all the new sights are like this or just the wider blade

I have a dawson front sight in my 1911 which I love it's perfect I just bought one that's wider and the dot seems huge Does the size of the fiber in a wider blade get bigger? Or what's going on here? Any help would be great I like the wider notch but I'm not liking the bigger dot
