Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I know. I'm going to the range and have a look. I'm taking all the advice given. For now just use what I've got, try some different models and see what happens.
  2. Ok. Here's what I think I'm gonna do. I already have 2 more mags on the way for the p89. I'm debating a spring kit as well as a p95 trigger mod I read about. At the risk of being stubborn what about the Duty model CZ? I don't think anyone said anything about it. NoT good for bigginer competive shooter? I do plan to try some three gun later this summer. An looks like the pistol matches will be IDPA or USPSA. I like USPSA better personally because seems more laid back. Thanks again to all that has replied.
  3. Whoa, thanks for all the responses! I thought I'd get one that said "use the search function" which I have done. There is sooo much info about people getting different things for what ever reason. I've just been in "info overload" hell! I understand what almost everyone is saying. First calm down and learn the game, save and get the Shadow. I just had a tough time with the trigger getting that second shot was a lot harder than expected. There was so much muzzle movement I'd miss the second shot. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy my Ruger, it may be old and sloppy but it goes BANG every time I ask it to. I believe that I probably should wait before purchasing, I think the local indoor range has one of the 75b that you can rent, so I may go try it just for fun! Another thing is I suppose at some point people used the p89 in production class so there must be something I can do to calm the trigger and the muzzle rise without breaking the bank. Thanks again for all the comments and advice.
  4. Ok, first let me say hello, new forum user here. I need some advice on what CZ handgun would be best for production in all the various US competitive competitions. Just last week I've finally shot my first match. I used what I had which was a Ruger p89 with (1) 10-shot mag and (2) 15-shot mags. I did o.k. I would suppose, but I know I shoot better than my score says. It was a whole new world to me. I can honestly say I'm hooked after one match! They put me in "limited-minor" because of my mag capacity and I understand I need more mags. The real thing is instead of dropping a bunch of cash on a gun that really don't compare to most out there I am very interested in getting a new/used pistol that covers most if not all the different competitions I can attend. I want to stay in the production class, but I don't have $1k to spend on a pistol, as much as I would like to get a 75 Shadow it just ain't gonna happen. Should I just get a 75b or a Duty? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for any insight.
