  1. That's one of my issues with this match as well and I live in Cheyenne. Very hard to justify 3 days and $300 for only eight stages. Originally I was hoping to shoot this but with the match being pushed up a week it conflicts with another major match in the area that I was already committed too. Have to wait and see how it all turns out. Might try to give it another shot next year.
  2. It would be nice if Nationals or the WSSC weren't in the first half of the year. For those of us who don't live on the west coast or in the south, we aren't able to get out and shoot all that much due to weather.
  3. This, except that I've also found 1100-1150 fps to work very well with 115gr bullets. OP, you could also post this over in the Bianchi section. Those are people that know what they are talking about when it comes to 50 yard shooting.
  4. In an effort to cut ammo costs I have been looking for a cheaper 9mm bullet that can perform at 50 yards. Has anyone had success using coated bullets at the 50 yard line? What bullet weight and profile?
  5. Well it's not a clean barrel so we can rule that one out. I've never heard of Massad Akoob's first round theory. I'll have to look into it. It very well could be me. I just don't understand why I can shoot groups like that but I always manage to throw one. I'll try to shoot some groups this week and see what happens. Those XTPs aren't cheap though... lol
  6. When shooting groups I will always have a nice tight group expect for one round that is always thrown way to the right. I can't figure out if it is me jerking the trigger or maybe the ammo. The reason I'm questioning if it's the ammo is because I'm shooting roughly 1" groups not including the flyer and I almost always seem to have one way outside of the main group. So do you think it might be the ammo or am I just jerking the crap out of the trigger? I am shooting a Glock 34 with KKM barrel. Reloads are: 115 gr Hornady XTP 6.4 gr Power Pistol OAL 1.120 Starline Brass Winchester Primers This is 5 shots at 25 yards prone This is 5 shots at 50 yards prone
  7. What gauge would you recommend for a 9mm KKM barrel? The regular one or the match?
  8. I'll be shooting production with my Glock 19 and I'm still deciding if I'm going to be shooting factory ammo or my reloads.
  9. I've been signed up for a while now but I've never really posted so I figured it's time to introduce myself. I'm in southeastern Wyoming for the time being and have been shooting at small competitions here in town for about three years now. I just started shooting NRA action pistol and absolutely love it. I'm even going to compete at the Bianchi Cup this year. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from you guys.
  10. May 2nd the range in Cheyenne, WY is having it's defensive pistol shoot and on the the 3rd they are having their NRA Action match. http://www.ottoroadshootingrange.com/calendar
