  1. I put an Apex sear in it by itself, and it dropped the trigger pull to 5 pounds even. I adjusted the trigger bar shepherd's crook to drop the striker, but it does not drop the rear of sear as much as the factory sear. Is there any reason to open the shepherd's crook more than what is required to allow it to release the striker? I have not fired it yet, but it consistently releases the striker when dry firing with a snap cap.
  2. What kind of drop in trigger pull should be expected by just installing the Apex hard sear?
  3. What should be a real trigger pull range for the M&P 9 Pro 5" barrel? I recently sent mine to S&W for a few problems that were repaired, and I complained about the trigger not being close to the range advertised on their website which says 4-5.5 pounds. My Lyman trigger gauge said 7 pounds 2 ounces when sent and says 7 pounds 4 ounces when returned. The repair ticket only says trigger adjusted. I think the trigger gauge is working okay, and it reads 7 pounds on a M&P 45 with fewer rounds, 6 pounds on a friends M&P 40 and 4 pounds 12 ounces on a Glock 41. Should I see about returning again, or is the factory spec listed on the website just bogus? This is a 9 Pro made in February 2014. If this is normal, I just need to pass it on to a new owner and take the money hit now. Thanks.
  4. Maybe Dillon will see this and make adjustments to the rod dimensions.
  5. Sorry for the poor description, the portion I'm talking about is the ~¼" portion of the rod that threads through the bell crank assembly.
  6. Does anyone make a failsafe rod where the portion of the rod going through the powder measure bellcrank is longer than the current part. This part is too short and does not allow the rod to hang straight down. The measure must be rotated such that the rod is not hanging plumb in order to work. If the powder measure is positioned have the length of the rod vertically plumb, the powder measure will bind. Yes, I have the rod inserted from correct direction, I've tried two different rods and three different powder measures. The problem is the portion of the rod going through the powder measure bellcrank is too short, and the radius in the bend is dragging on the edges of the powder measure bellcrank. I've filed the radius in the bends to effectively increase the straight length here, and this has helped a great deal in making in smoother and less "clanky". I know this is a minor issue, but the lack of smoothness and clanky behavior is annoying. Was the rod changed when the powder measure bellcrank was changed to the current slotted bellcrank that appears to be twice the thickness as the old deisgn? When I say twice the thickness, I mean from the pictures I've seen of the old design, the bellcrank is one piece and the new design is two pieces. Thanks
  7. I tried E3 today in 9mm, and if recoil and ejection distance is any indication, the E3 I have it is faster than the N320 I have. I used 3.7 grains E3 with a Berry's 124 HBRN, and I got good strong ejection in a Glock 19. 4.1 grains of N320 with the same bullet and OAL resulted in fairly weak ejection and some BTF. No indication of overpressure on the brass or primers. Hopefully when the weather improves I can use a chronograph and put some numbers to it.
  8. My most accurate and clean 45 load uses N310 and Nosler 185JHP. I like it.
  9. I tried 4.5 grains of E3 with 185 Nosler and 3.5 grains with 230 Bayou bullets last Sunday. The shot well and did not have obvious pressure signs, but the recoil surprised me. The recoil was much more than I expected and definitely was not as soft as Clays at the same charge. The 185 load had a little more snap to it than 6.0 grains of AA2 with the same bullet shot the same day. Each load was weighed. How consistent is E3 lot to lot? Based on comments I read here, I thought it would have a milder recoil. It was not a really heavy recoil, just more I was expecting.
  10. The inside will never come as clean as the exterior, and the primer pockets will not come much cleaner, even with the case tumbled without the old primer in place.
  11. I have Kimber Pro Carry II and I want to try some Zero bullets in 124gr, but I could only find #161 which are 0.356" and the Kimber barrel is 0.355". Are there any negatives going with the slightly larger OD bullet such as increased wear or pressure?
  12. I've also been reading that N320 could be used and it's a great powder in 45acp, which is the only other pistol caliber I load for now. Is N320 too fast for 38 Super?
  13. I've read alot of good things about Silhouette, but the dealers in my area only handle Ramshot rifle powders. What about WSF as compared to PP or N340 in terms of accuracy and cleanliness? I've read that PP has a very high level of nitro. Does this mean that PP will heat up the barrel much faster than a single base powder like N340?
  14. I'm considering purchasing Power Pistol or N340 for reloading 38 Super. Is N340 much cleaner burning than Power Pistol, or does it have other properties that would make it a significant advantage over Power Pistol? I plan to load 125XTP. My pistol is a Kimber Pro Carry II and is only used for recreational use.
