For the last 3 years the mark 7s have caught my eye. Even the consumer model without an auto drive. They feel so smooth

Agree, and Dillon just keeps banking on the name and brings nothing new to the table and just looks at you like you are stupid just asking if anything new might be in the works. I will most likely be up grading to mark 7 at some point. I wouldn't if i still had my first 1050, sold it to help a friend, the newer replacement 1050 has been nothing but a pain.

Any new experiences with the Echelon?

Some are curious about it in my corner of the world, and it is available for less than the BUL take on a glock and way less than a Zev.

I really haven't had a chance  to put to many rounds thru it yet. So far no issues.

Besides polishing the tip of the disconnector there is one other thing you can do that I haven't really seen mentioned on the board here. You can disassemble the slide and then file a bevel at the bottom of the breachface where the disconnector hits, and then polish it with a stone.. There is a very slight bevel there already, but putting a bigger bevel there definitely helps.

One small issue I encountered is that my 9mm reloads are too tight in the Prodigy's chamber and/or the barrel just beyond the chamber.  Factory 9mm is fine.  I took some measurements.

I found the same, tight chamber and short, with coated really need to check and load short.

  5. I will second the Springfield being a good starter 2011, the 4.25 I have has been good. I feel you about not be the tinker type, but after having one I started to. My thought was I have other guns to play the game with and was willing to try doing a few things. I did the trigger, drop in kit from Infinity, only thing that didn't work was the leaf spring, too short to catch the sear. If you can take a CZ apart the 2011 shouldn't be anything to be worried about. Or pay a bit more and go with the Staccato, good track record for working out of the box.

  6. I was too stupid to say NO. Old match director ghosted the club, I had only been shooting with them for little over a year, but had more competition shooting under my belt then anyone else(new club). About a month out from the first match of the year, not sure why, but the new guy every one was an ass too was getting called. Note to clubs, don't be an ass to new shooters, they could save your club.  What do we do? 5 years latter  match numbers are up 70%, high earner for the host range five years in a row. I now have in place a core group of guess match directors to take a little bit of load off of me. With progress come consequences, now having trouble finding anyone willing to take over, host club wants more, as in can you do steel challenge and USPSA and IDPA and 3 gun, no, no,no! At some point you need to say no. I know it is my fault, when I took over the club it was a mess, no structure, no one really knew the rules for the game they wanted to play(witch has been the biggest issue). At one point last year I set up the match with 2 or 3 people helping, got all the tablets going and got everyone registered and shot the match as a walk on shooter, just walked up to a squad and shot.  I really miss shooting, it was so much fun, was the best I've shot at my own club in 5 years, didn't even plan on shooting that day, but winning a match in flip flops is fun.

  7. I like sport pistol, cleaner that 231, can't remember my 147 load, but for 125 Gallant coated 3.9-4.0 grains should be close. I'm now loading for gen 5s so I load way shorter then the gen 3 will take. My load currently is 4.2 grains sport pistol @ 1.100", mixed range pick up brass and a CCI 500. At my home range works to run 137 Power factor in a gen 5 17 and 132 power factor in a gen 5 19.

  8. Get a 15# recoil spring on a stainless guide rod and 4.5# striker spring. After that some 147gr coated bullets and pick a powder that works (lots of options). 3 ish grains of titegroup is a good starting point.

  9. The "normal" Syntech is loaded closer to FMJ range ammo velocities the the "Action Pistol" USPSA stuff, but is a bit cheaper than FMJ, and from the little I've shot is good stuff, it may not be as close to the power factor floor as the "action pistol" stuff.

  10. I don't think I've shot a local, section, or area match that I wasn't the first shooter on the first stage of day one. It use to peak my anxiety, would rack up a mike or two and find a no shoot. Last two year for some reason at our section match, barely light, walk through done, the RO just getting ready to call the order jokingly I walk to the start, and as normal my name was called as first up. Not sure why, but this time it didn't bug me, ended the match winning my class/division. I just finely got to the point it is going to be what it's going to be, I'm not if the fight for the overall, just want to shoot my class or better. Once that clicked I've shot above my paper class and it has proved to me that classification is a good base to judge a shooters basic skill, but not the shooters true skill, that will show at level two and up matches.

For sure the Echelon is way better than the XD series. It is kind of like the Smith & Wesson M&P series for me, seems great but don't see the point in changing from a Glock.

I would 100% agree, it is the Glock/ M&P for the folks that don't like the other. I would add that it is also the P320 for those that don't like them either. I do think in the full size duty gun platform it dose offer some good stuff, is it better than a P320 or Glock, or smith and wesson, I don't know.

i never shot an XD but something about them just seemed unsavory to me lol

i did buy a prodigy and have been happy with it (after upgrades)

seems like the hellcat and echelon are wins but like you im curious how they do after the new excitement wears off

I have the 4.25 prodigy and have been happy so far, my only issue has been with the Atlas too less guide rod locking up now and than.

i had to look up what this was but it looks......just terrible lol

Yes, Yes it was. I'll be honest other than a 1911 I got in 1999 I have had no use for Springfield, always hated the XD line, but I will say that the hell cat and the Echelon have some good stuff going for them, HS Produkt has put together a nice package. We will just have to see how it pans out.

  14. Well I finely took the Springfield to a match. At this point I've only put about 500 rounds thru it. It runs, not sure what else to say. Like the for end, like the grip and stock, don't hate colt smg mags, other than loading them. Over the winter I plan on getting  a hydraulic buffer and a dot with a bigger window. For as much as I plan on shooting PCC it will work fine, price point is good for me. I do hope the aftermarket gets on board and supports it, mag well and all the other goodies.

  15. Welcome back. I to have a weakness for a glock 17. I have also shot a 47, that said I'll keep my 17. The 47 was fine, and I felt with more than 3 mags I could be fine with it. For me I have put to many rounds thru and am too use to the feel of the trigger and recoil impulse of my 17, but could totally mve to the 47 with enough time on the platform. That said I get what the US boarder patrol was after with this contract.
