During a recent trip to western NC I stopped by a local Mom and Pop store. I sneezed while checking out and the old man said "Scat there!". I didn't think anything about it but I overheard someone else saying the same thing a few days later. I looked it up online and discovered its a regional saying heard only in the Appalachians. It could be "Scat there" or "Scat there Tom, your tail's in the gravy" only said after someone sneezes. I don't get it but I do find it interesting. Has anyone else come across weird regional sayings or phrases?
Youngeyes, I think Brian is talking about the old saying "ride as if you were invisible". It doesn't mean you're trying to be invisible. It means you should ride so people wont hit you even if they don't see you. I have Cobra drag pipes and try to ride in groups so people hear and see me. But I still "ride as if I'm invisible".
My buddy took me to TRH for the first time a couple days ago. Very nice steaks, great price. He took a phone call outside as soon as we sat down...by the time he got back I had finished two baskets of the rolls with that heavenly butter. Cant wait to go back.
I know what you mean Atlas. Hate the short beavertail. Love my stainless 75b with the longer one. BTW,I saw where CGW has a "large shipment" of 85C's coming in with a ton of sweet CGW parts and work. Can't wait to get my mitts on one of them.
I have to admit, when I read the post "Only the best", I thought you knew somewhere you considered to be the best but forgot to put the name. So I just googled gun stores in Pompano. Didn't realize that was the name.
Lol @ "KILLER". Pun intended I'm sure. Final episode was great. I was literally on the edge of my seat leaning in when they were in the tunnels (Carcosa).
I went to National Armory in Pompano Beach. Pretty nice place. I could've spent a couple more hours there. I'll have to go back when I'm down next month. Thanks GM2B.
Are there any gun/ammo shops worth visiting? Yes, I realize it's quite late but I just found out I have a free day tomorrow while I'm down here in Fort Lauderdale. Going back to Orlando tomorrow night. Thanks.
I did exactly that. Nick half, left half alone. By the way, after fixing the google redirect I got a BSOD soooo now I have a brand spanking new laptop. Yay!
Turns out I had a Google redirect virus which is why I wasn't finding anything. Now that I've fixed that, still nothing on nicking seeds or not except someone else asking the same thing. Guess that means one doesn't nick open these seeds. Thanks guys.
Specifically Texas Star Hibiscus. With other Hibiscus plants I've grown from seeds, I've cut the seed a little bit with a utility knife before planting. Do I do the same with the Texas Stars? Not much information on them (that I found).
