  1. Didn't realize the MR receiver was proprietary... That wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I'd rather have interchangeable parts if possible. it is disappointing to hear about their quality going down. The Tactical Innovations receiver looks like a nice piece... I definitely plan on getting a receiver with the charging handle on the left side... It looks like the charging handle and assembly hardware are sold separately from the receiver... Is that what you used with the KIDD bolt? The charging handle looks kind of flimsy... Seems like it might bind up... Does it work all right? Thanks again for the info!
  2. Trying to decide between the TacSol X-Ring and the Magnum Research receiver/bolt... Can't find the Magnum Research receivers for sale anywhere (besides in a complete gun)... Where's the best place to buy a Magnum Research receiver? What receiver are most of you guys using in a Wiland chassis?
  3. Thanks... I like the K2+ grip because it's ruberized in addition to a good angle... I'm used to it but would try out the one that comes with the chassis... adding all the AR parts will make it heavier, so will try the standard parts first.
  4. Great pictures... Thanks! I like the Magpul K2+ grips... Might have to trim them down a bit. Does the grip you have come with the Wiland chassis kit?
  5. Nice writeup... Thanks for posting it. I'm also considering a Wiland chassis... I like it but I'm waiting to see how the AR grip attachment works... Seems odd to me that you need an extra attachment for an AR grip... Seems like everyone would rather have an AR type grip... Same for the butt stock. You mentioned the ability to move the grip forwards and back sound interesting... Maybe that's why he makes a special adapter? Got a close up of that?
  6. Now that's a good answer...
  7. Curious why you guys use tape instead of pasters?
  8. Our range supplied a lot of range officers for the Frostproof Nationals... and I shot the PCC Nationals... First I've heard that Troy requested them not use Bluetooth to pull times.
  9. Thanks, Steve! Does his setup still use the press fit barrel? Will he mount the barrel?
  10. Beats me... No idea... I have never seen or used one of the displayless timers. First I have heard of them... Not a fan.
  11. It makes no difference to your score, but you lose all the digital data if the time is typed in manually... No shot times... No graphs... etc.
  12. Then you type it in manually like we did in the past.
  13. Are you talking about the two boxes I have highlighted in the attached Practiscore Compeitor screen print? The top (red) box does the math to show what my hit factor would have been if I had shot all alphas on the course. The next (purple) box seems to use Eric's formula that you are talking about... So the time penalty for a Charlie on this stage is 0.33 and the penalty for a delta is 0.66... So if I make up a Charlie with an Alpha and a 0.15 split, it's worthwhile on this stage? What is the significance of the "Final 16.62" time? I realize that it is my hit factor plus the penalty times, but I'm not sure what that tells me... How it helps me?
  14. If you're dead set on these displayless timers... I suggest you buy one and let your Range Officers try it first...
  15. I assume you mean that the other display is a PractiScore tablet? How does an RO determine whether he is capturing any shots without a display on the timer? You should discuss the displayless timer option with your Range Officers before buying timers with out displays... Not worth it to save a few bucks...
  16. If you mean Steel Challenge, there is no power factor. Shoot the load you like.
  17. I assume you mean the KynShot rb5015hd buffer? So you added a buffer tube that is .75" longer and then only added one quarter to make up the difference? https://www.blitzkriegcomponents.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=R15015098 Try adding one of the KynShot buffer weights to the front of your 5015 buffer... You will still need to add some more quarters even with the buffer weight... Add quarters behind the spring to limit the bolt/buffer travel... Just make sure the bolt travels far enough behind the cartridge to still grab the next round from the magazine.
  18. Because the spring does not determine the overall travel of the bolt/buffer unless the coils bind. Which KynShot buffer are you using?
  19. https://www.amazon.com/Corrosion-50010-Guns-4oz-bottle/dp/B0009H1AM6/ Are you talking about the CorrosionX CLP?
  20. First I've heard of someone using a barney round for PCC. What is the purpose of just loading a barney round?
  21. https://www.blitzkriegcomponents.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=JPSCS-SPACER You can do it, but you'll have to compensate for the different lengths with a buffer spacer... You can either make one or use something like the spacer in the link above.
  22. Sounds like you might have paired your DLX directly to your phone... You don't need/want to do that... The DLX controls the Bluetooth connection by itself.
