Steel Challenge using Practiscore, how to 'Master'...?

If your range wifi doesn't have Internet access, you'll need to use a hotspot from your phone to upload the scores. -
TY stands for Three Year... You must have changed from a single year USPSA membership subscription to a three year subscription... You will need to use the TY version from now on...

I am diving into the PCC pool
RaylanGivens replied to Startingover's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
True... But that's the only option available to me... I appreciate my friends letting me shoot their rifles... It would be difficult/impossible to find multiple rifles with the pre-testing that you describe. My original plan was to try to duplicate the hydraulic buffer wave spring system some of you are using... but I just don't understand the technology well enough to implement one... I could find some delrin and have it cut, but I'm not sure exactly how to determine the critical dimensions... I expect they are different for every rifle, depending on the parts used... My second plan was to use a simple hydralic buffer with the standard 308 carbine spring... which I may still do... then test shortening the buffer system using the "quarters" method to see what's going on... although it seems that some of the early Blitzkrieg buffer adopters are abandoning them because they leak... So would I... ? I'd like to shoot your rifle with its sophisticated buffer system to see how much different it is from some of the PCC rifles people shoot down here... Looks to me like you could use a Florida vacation... ? -

Yes... But I don't know if my bolt needs speeding up or not... partly because my rifle isn't complete (and I can't shoot it)... and partly because I'm not familiar enough with PCC rifle components to know if removing the bolt weight is a generally accepted good practice or not.. I built a Gas operated AR15 from scratch about 8 years ago, but never shot it competitively... Soon after I built it I discovered USPSA matches and have been shooting Open and Limited pistols ever since then. I shot a PCC rifle a few weeks ago and decided to build one... I'm learning on the go... If I had it to do over again, I would wait longer and buy the buffer, bolt, and barrel all together at one time. -

I've been fortunant that many of our local PCC shooters let me shoot their rifles... the ULW that I shot was a very light gun... It had more flip than the other rifles that were all full length... the dot didn't leave the glass, but it rose higher than the other full length rifles... It seemed to take me longer for the second shot... Not sure if it was that build or if I am just a lousy PCC rifleman, but it seemed like a full length barrel would be the best place for me to start. -

The Taccom Extreme bolt does not have a hole in the end, but it does have a removable weight... I'm not sure how removing the weight from the bolt will affect the performance of the rifle. I originally planned to buy one of Taccom's ULW sleeved barrels with a short pistol barrel, so I bought their bolt... After I bought the bolt, I shot one of my friends guns with a Taccom ULW barrel and decided to get a longer barrel instead. The Taccom Extreme bolt is clearanced for their Taccom rampped barrel... No idea if it would clear the SI ramped barrel. -

Do I detect a Shooting Innovations sponsorship coming up? Congratulations if so!!! I like their RRS buffer system... I'm just not sure if it would work with my Taccom Extreme 9mm bolt. I am thinking about buying one of their 9mm ramped barrels though... They look like a nice piece... Did you have to throat yours? Not sure what bullet I'll be running yet, but it'll probably end up in the 1.135 range. -

Since the derlin spacel is the same length as the difference between a carbine buffer and an A5 buffer, it cancels out any difference in the operation of your buffer. So your benefit from the A5 tube is increased length of pull. -

RaylanGivens replied to Startingover's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
I'm putting together a new 9mm PCC build and down to selecting the buffer, stock, and receiver extension... Since I don't have any of these items, I plan to use a mil-spec receiver extension and stock... also planning to use the Blitzkeieg hydraulic buffer... I have a 16inch barrel, so I'm planning to start with the Blitzkrieg hydraulic Buffer and a rifle length JP buffer spring. Once I get my rifle running reliably, I'll start to experiment a bit with the sophisticated buffer system you are using. My concern is that all the A5 receiver extensions that I have found all require a proprietary buffer/spring setup... and the Blitskrieg buffer doesn't say that it is A5 buffer tube compatible... Did you use some specific model of A5 receiver extension that is Blitzkrieg compatible? -
What is the difference between the QC10 standard billet upper receiver and the MUR version? Did you choose the MUR version for some reason? What did you use for your selector switch? Now that you've had it built for a while... How do you like it? How does it shoot?

Is the magnification always 1:1 on all red dot sights? Some optics seem to have a different field of view than others... A Holosun 510c seems to show a wider view of the shooting area than a C-More RTS2 for instance... Is this just because it's a bigger piece of glass?

Did you buy the Blitzkrieg buffer, 308 spring, spacer and wave spring as an assembly, or did you have to machine some of the parts yourself? -

Assume you are making the Blitzkrieg buffer setup with the wave spring and derlin spacers? Do you sell them? -
Great advice, MM... Took me a long time to figure this out.

Thanks... I've been updating my test tablet whenever I see a new version in Android's Play Store... Then I press the changelog link on PractiScore's home page to see what's changed. As I said in my last post, first I've heard of the answers page... Do you guys ever send out updates when you change this stuff? ...Maybe a news page? -

Reported this to support@practiscore.com a couple of weeks ago... Never heard back... That's why I posted here... Eugene usually reads this forum. Never heard of the answers.practiscore.com page... Must be new... No idea who DJ is... -
Help! The PractiScore change log web page is missing... The https://practiscore.com/blog/ web page now shows up as a Forbidden page (see attached image)... What's up with that? I use the change log page to find new PractiScore releases and what changes/fixes/updates there are... Any idea where the change log is located now? Additionally, the PractiScore.com web site mentions https://practiscore.com/blog/app-information/#toggle-id-1 to find the current change log... It is missing, too...

Are those of you building your own PCC building full length rifles? Wondering why no one seems to mention going the SBR route...
