Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Everyone who runs them here has a different fix. "Run 38 Super mags" "Run grams springs and followers in a 40 cal mag" "Cut 2 coils" Just not worth investing 1k into mags that may or may not work. Its a real confidence killer as all your expecting is nose dives etc on stages. So back to Classic division until my SVI is built
  2. Thanks guys. I think ill go the super comp. Ive already got a 357sig custom STI Edge and love the gun love the work done to it but they just won't run with the STI 10 shot crimped mags. Absolute nightmare of nose dives, springs collapsing. Just not worth my trouble. Shame as I've got an endless supply of 40cal brass
  3. Hi, Im moving into open and am currently getting an SVI IMM built. Im located in Australia so we are limited to 10 round magazines (Stupid i know) Everyone i ask gives me a different opinion. Do i get it chambered in 38 Super or 38 Super Comp? I may travel intentionally in the future to compete where full size mags are legal. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks
  4. Sorted! It was the brass after all. I got some brand new 38 Super brass at the SHOT show and bingo! Drops in smooth as butter. What a f#@%k around! Even after full length sizing in a dillon 38 Super size!
  5. Doesn't appear to be by the eye.
  6. Mines just got oil on it from cleaning it after running mothers polish in the cylinders. I just tried this and now think its the extractor star. Depressed extractor and dropped a 38 super into the cylinder hole that is tight and bingo it drops straight in. Take it out and drop in with the extractor in place tight to the point it won't drop in cylinder again. WTF is going on here!!!!
  7. Supers all stick in the same 1 cylinder aswell. From my understand 9mm can be fired and used in the 627 38 super
  8. Doesn't make sense that even factory 9mm won't chamber! This things driving me nuts. I still haven't fired a shot through it
  9. Hi, After getting a second hand 627 38 Super a couple of weeks back that had apparently done nearly no work i tried reloading some 38 super for it. I already own a Wilson Combat Tactical Elite 38 Super so i attempted reloading the brass used in that. I came to the conclusion that the 38 Super brass was bulged at the bottom so went ahead and ordered a Lee Bulge Buster Kit. So the Bulge Buster turned up on my doorstep today and i broke the carbide within 5 minutes of trying to use it! Out of curiosity I dropped 8 factory loaded 9mm rounds into the cylinder with no moon clips to see if it was maybe a cylinder issue. One is particularly stiff and impossible to let a factory 9mm drop in? All the others dropped in differently there was no uniformimty among the 8 on the cylinder. I tried polishing with a 40 cal bore mop on a drill with mothers polish on it but didn't make a difference. Has anyone got any ideas on what the hells going on? Im pulling my hair out with this thing now! These are factory 9mm rounds
  10. Ive done a search and just want some clarification on how to setup my Dillon 650 for loading Short Colt. I currently have the following dies Lee 38/357 RCBS 38 spec Dillon 9mm RCBS 9mm Dillon 38 super Can someone walk me through which die to use for each station please? Thanks in advance Liam
  11. So for something different I decided to put together a 38 super Open Revolver to mix things up a bit (i mainly play with a 2011 custom 357 sig). I picked up a nice slightly used S&W 627 & finally got it in my hands today. I had all the parts ready for its arrival and just put it all together. I will hit the range tomorrow and see how it goes. I have a couple of different mounts for the cmore. I'm starting with the BMT kickstand sideways mount and if i dont like it ill go to the Allchin conventional mount. Needs a trigger job which is my next project. How it arrived. Someone put some LPA fiberoptic sights on it Next i installed the Nill grips Next the BMT kickstand
  12. LOL i think i just got lucky i haven't seen many come up forsale
