    You are correct sir!

I dabbled way back when shooting Limited and Limited 10 with a 96 Brig Inox.

With just 16 rounds of .40 on board, it didn't leave much margin for error on a stage... miss a steel or make up a shot on paper and you could end up doing a flat footed slide lock reload in the middle of a stage.  Then that seemed to throw off my plan or tempo for the rest of the stage.

Which is one of the reasons I just stuck with a 92 Brig Inox and 20 + 1 of 9mm (minor).

Yeah...yeah...I can already hear the "but minor sucks" arguments spooling up.  Save yourself the key strokes...I've heard it all before like 9 years ago.

It's not like I was going to win a new Chevy Silverado Z71 pick up truck at each local match...where dropping points because of major/minor scoring really mattered.

This stuff is supposed to be fun, right?

Haha, well said! I hear this all the time too. Limited minor doesn't make sense, this, that, or the other. I'm not a pro and likely won't be, I don't reload and can leave my 9mm brass all over to grow new 9mm ammo. And yes, I do realize this was from March...

For sure! I'm already looking at 75 Compacts 😂

And the more you look, the more reasons to get it! And then you stumble across CZ Customs and CGW with all the sexy things they do. Before you know it, you have five and refuse to part with any of them. I may or may not be speaking from experience...

Eh... My Para mags with Dawson basepads required nothing more than taking the factory pad off and installing a Dawson to get 20 rounds reloadable. And the pistol was ~$1100 new in 2016.

Good deal and you had good luck on the mags running out of the box. Unfortunately, a lot of 2011 mags require quite a bit of tuning to get them to run reliably. Even after they are tuned, you run into them eventually needing to be re-tuned. If you know how, no big deal, but if you have to send them off to a pro, then it becomes even more of an investment into just the mags.

  4. I shoot both CZ and 2011 platforms. I believe this will be a great gun for newish, slightly seasoned shooters. The benefits of this is: price point for a well made blaster, much cheaper mags that won't require a lot of tuning, and ergos. I am into each of my 2011 mags at least $90 but more around $110. Using existing CZ mags for $35 and figure around another $40 for extensions and guts. Once I get to shoot one, and reliability has been put to the test, I may abandon the 2011.

  5. Installed Apex trigger enhancement kit in my Shadow 2 last weekend. Very smooth, after 500 rounds and a good cleaning my DA trigger is now 5.6 average, SA has been a solid 3.0. This is nothing close to a striker fired trigger. And I still like striker fired guns.

Those are pretty good pull rates! Given the feedback of others saying it’s a steady pull and not spongy; this sounds like something I will try.
  6. I followed these directions and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

That looks really good! Did you tri-top the slide or is that just the lighting?
  7. Tell him to pick up or borrow a regular Tac Sport non-orange mag and see if he has the same issue. I only shoot Freedom Munitions 115, 124, and 147 grains. Never had any magazine issues out of my non-orange TS with their ammo. No issues with both the stock springs/followers or the CZ Customs springs/followers/extended base pads.

  8.

    Yeah.

    Just kidding.

we have some guns and doing QC check on a random group. Should be making some calls soon.

So given that. Please don't call. I can't do the paper work and pack guns if I am answering the phone.

I got it pretty well organized so I appreciate your patience.

    thanks.

    Outstanding!

  9. Well. I was fuming a little bit because I'm impatient. That makes sense I guess.

It's actually a good sign for us commoners. Once their shooters have them they will start trickling down to distributors. I'm right with you my friend, can't wait to get one!
  10. How are the elitists getting these guns? They are available in USSA but just for them huh? Answer that one CZ.

They make sure their team shooters are sporting the latest and greatest.
  11. Talked to CZ-USA today about a web store order and asked when the general public should start seeing the Shadow 2; late March is what I was told. He said some will likely be out before then but not in large numbers.

  12. I have ended up with an extra complete 9mm Tac Sport slide and since I have an addiction to tinkering with my CZs, I want to put it on an SP-01 frame. This more of a question for Stuart and Atlas, but if anyone else has done this, please chime in.

What are the necessary modifications to make this happen?

I have converted the SP-01 to SAO. I know there is a mod needed to the slide but have been unable to locate the specifics.

I have lots of tools at my disposal and am pretty competent and confident in my smithing ability.

Thanks for any and all insight!

  13. If it wasn't for how accurate these are, I'd switch back to plastic!  I feel like these are worse than 1911's when it comes to getting them working and keeping them running!

I did a little shooting this last weeked.

    Here's 40 yds off hand

Lol, I don't know if they are that finicky!
  14. So I got the SP-01 Tactical apart, polished, reassembled and put back together, but the hammer won't hit the firing pin. It stops about 1/16"-1/8" away. New parts are CGW firing pin, hammer Springs, trigger return spring and disconnected. Hammer is CZC. I'm using my P-01 as a model, and things look pretty similar. I don't have the decocker levers back in. Trigger works in SA and DA.

Call David at CGW. He will get you fixed up.

  15. You can stake it. You can also put the sight back to your zero, remove the set screw, drill a small divot for the set screw to grab a hold of and locktite the set screw. This way you have not only friction but a mechanical fixture to hold the sight.

The divot would be similar to the ones under an AR gas block.

  16. Factory sights?

It shouldn't be much of an issue. Mark the slide so you know where you started in case you move it too far. Delrin block or punch if you don't have a sight tool.
