When u say left side, do u mean slide lock, mag release side? On the extraction side is where the rounded end of the pin sticks out. Thanks for clarifying.

Hi guys, Have a noob question that i was hoping to get some help on. I have a new 2011 RIA hi cap in 9mm that has a magwell from the factory. I bought 2 mecgar p18 mags and arredondo extended base pads for it but the magwell will not accomadate the outer lip of the base pads. I was thinking either modify existing magwell or adding a dawson ice. Problem is, I'm not sure how to remove it. It has a hex screw on the bottom which i removed as well as a pin. I'm assuming i knock the pin out correct? Not sure which side though. One side shown has the pin recessed in. Other side is sticking out a bit, is rounded and blued. Thanks for the help.

Seems that Rock ISland has changed the model/manufacturing number at least for the 9mm. It used to be 51677 but now it's 51679.

Talked with RIA 2 weeks ago and they are ready to be shipped but they are having issues with the Magazine manufacturer. Once that gets resolved, they should be shipping. She said they were hoping to ship before the holidays but not sure.

2011 tactical VZ 9mm hicap version model No. is 51677. I read on 1911forum that the hicaps will be available at the end of the year. I had heard that it was supposed to be end of March/ beginning of April when they would release it but doesn't look like that's happening. RIA guys on their facebook page wont touch the subject of release date. Davidsons has it for a retail $804.69 with no ETA and a -1 availability(whatever that means). I had RIA send me a price list and catalog that features it and the list price is $515.00 which has to be wholesale price.

Hi everyone, Just found this site and it has a wealth of knowledge!! I own a Para Carry 9 that I've modified and a Dan Wesson Guardian. Both are 9mm and I plan on getting my hands on the new RIA 2011 full rail Hi Cap in 9mm. I heard some good things about the RIA hi cap frames and would like to eventually like to turn it into a tack driver. I'm sure I'll be asking questions real soon.
