The factory armscor 40 mags are great, but with the extensions and other parts it would be over 67$ each.

Maybe time to experiment with different spring setups in the 2011. Could be too light?

Wow! I just got an order of 2550 180gr "the blue bullets" and loaded up a test batch yesterday. I loaded them at 1.2" with 6.0gr aliant power pistol and averaged 13 shots at 949.5fps out of my RIA Ultra match 40.

Yeah, I agree you should build up the sear block on the safety and learn how it interacts to block the sear You'll need to take off your main spring housing and grip safety to observe function. It isn't a friction wear area, it should never have more force applied than you pulling the trigger with the safety engaged, and you shouldn't be pulling the trigger while simultaneously disengaging the safety. Peening is basically deforming the material on your non functional safety because it's probably only out of spec a few hundred thousands. In the end, when you're familiar with the safety and how it works I would order a new one and fit it. Also a good example of why function checks are important. Pull the trigger with safety on, release and take off thumb safety. Hammer doesn't fall. Etc. continue with grip safety etc.

I've had good luck with power pistol. I load 180gr plated rmr rnfp at 1.2 with 6.5gr of PP. 172PF 30shot avg from my RIA 40 ultra match. Fills the cases nicely and meters accurately from my hornady LNL ap powder throw. I don't notice any flash like people say.

3 gun match today. RIA 40 ultra match ran flawlessly, all hits in alpha or two on the paper. Wish my shotgun and rifle ran as well, instead of the hang ups.

Probably only 1000 of assorted calibers. So far this year I've loaded 3,000 so hopefully be at least emptying those.

My stock ambi safety on the right side comes loose, I'd like to replace with a wide single. Did you use a Ed brown 70 series or Wilson combat? Do you have to replace the pin that captures the off side ambi safety in the notch?

I went to the range yesterday to break in my new .40 pistol I plan to use for limited. I used my phone to take a slow motion video while I shot from a rest. When I reviewed the video and moved frame by frame I could see my thumb on my weak hand was really failing to keep engagement on the frame. Now, the shooting position I was using was not ideal, I did notice when shooting unsupported as you'd normally shoot in a match the recoil actually seemed much lower, although I wasn't able to capture it on video to review. I'd like to try a thumb rest to see how it works for me. I may try gluing something on before drilling into my frame though.

I can confirm for a fact now that I've received my 40 Ultra match that these are the factory magazines that come with the Ultra match 40. Tested them all today and they all work great.

I suppose it depends on bullet profile, I loaded rmr plated 180g fp to 1.2 no problem in my .40 ultra match chamber.

Here are some pics of the mags. They measure .930ish so they should drop free.

Just found the pro match ultra 40 in stock and switched my order from the 45 to that. Ordered 5 more factory mags which I hope are the same as factory.

Just ordered a RIA tac ultra in 45. I've been eying them since they were vaporware years ago and really wanted one in a 9mm. I decided to go with the 45 because I don't load 40, and that's all I could find in stock. That 40 looks really good without the dust shield cut, oh well. Now to find mag holders and a holster.
