  1. This really is simple. Allow the category of Limited optics for a year. If it gets enough shooters let it stay if not Kill it
  2. I've been using this same setup since TK first came out with the DoubleKross mags. I used to wind 1.5 turns but switched to 2 turns a couple of years ago. I live where I can shoot almost every weekend of the year. some weekend 2 matches. I shoot a lot and I have TK mags that are still the original style. These mags run flawlessly in my VQ guns, and last for years. I know that some of my mags are 8+ years old.
  3. you are correct for now about the sbr with a pistol brace being legal, in RFRO and RFRI divisions only. The rule says "any rifle shooting 22......"That will only last as until the Batf changes their mind again.
  4. not really since the rules specifically state, no arm braces. Put a stock on it and sbr it legally and it can be used under the rules. Since it was legally a pistol when manufactured it must be a reregistered as rifle to be shot in RFRO.
  5. Buy a Volquartsen Ultralight and put it in to a Weiland stock. Put your choice of red dot on and you are done with a top-of-the-line gun. you don't need a custom builder, Volquartsen took care of that.
  6. Great match all of the rules sound good except requiring the safety be on. Steel challenge does not require use of a safety unless the gun is holstered. I shot a lot of falling steel matches in PA and none ever required the use of a safety for table starts. All of the rest of the rules are reasonable.
  7. it usually is If you want great targets that ring and are guaranteed for life. These are much safer than targets with a hole in the face or a bolt head. Call Karl McKeever at GT Targets.
  8. this is the problem with USPSA RO's that are not familiar with Steel challenge ROing big matches . If you don't shoot it why would you try to RO it without experience. The last place a shooter needs RO interference is at larger match. Put that shoe on the other foot.... would any USPSA shooter want a SCSA only shooter ROing them?
  9. the original design was so much better. This one is only better than a poke in the eye......
  10. I have the same set up in my GMR15. I looked at installing the trigger in my JP5 and I don't see how this is going to fit
  11. Suppressed PCC's are specifically not allowed by rule. There isn't a no suppressor rule for RFRO or RFRI....at least that I was able to find. The only issue you would have shooting the barrel with the baffles removed would be filling the internal threads with lead spray. It can be difficult to clean it. You would be better off buying a ULW barrel from Wiland or a carbon wrapped barrel from Volquartsen.
  12. what was the difference in the firing pins ?
  13. my mistake, I thought there was still division specific placement.
  14. this makes more sense than the current divisions. Its drag racing so let it be that. The only other option that should be allowed is holster placement should be unlimited in SCSA.
  15. I believe that the best shooters will always win. I also think most of them will switch to this gun.
  16. I have owned a Freedom Ordinance, MPX, JP GMR13, GMR15, and a JP5. I have shot many others and there are many fine PCC's out there. BUT... The JP5 blows them all away. It is a game changer. It will be winning all of the PCC categories in SCSA and USPSA.
  17. The new stages is a great idea. Allowing clubs with smaller bays to run more stages can't be bad.
  18. If the shooter is following the rules, what is it that you can't stand. If the shooter takes 100 swings at the first plate inside of the time limit who cares. Why is it that RO's are bothered by people doing things in a different manner. An RO is not their to judge the shooter on style, just on safety and score. The RO is there to serve the shooters and the match not the other way around.
  19. The rule was changed a few years ago down to one minute, because some would take way to long to make ready. It is allowed under the rules so be annoyed if you want. The shooter has that right just as each shooter does.
  20. There is always going to be talking...this isn't golf... Learn to ignore the chatter and focus on the task at hand. You can't stop the noise of shooting from the other bays on a range so why concern yourself with the talking. Now if someone is messing with a shooter that is in the process of shooting that is really poor sportsmanship and should be dealt with through the rules.
  21. The green TK rotor and TK feed lips didn't work for me. I went back to the red rotor with the TK spring. Also used the Ruger cast metal feed lips and Set the spring tension to 1 1/2 turns. They work flawlessly for me. When they get built up with to much lube and start not rotating quickly enough to feed the next round......it's too late ...should have already cleaned them. I take them apart and clean them in a 4 to 1 solution of of simple green for 5 minutes at 50*C in my ultrasonic cleaner. I don't clean the bolt or nut in the cleaner. I just wipe and use a little silicone lube on them. Hope this helps. If you ever use Ruger factory mags always reset the spring tension before use. They come set from 1 turn to 3.
  22. Your "opinion" is wrong. I don't shoot USPSA so why the hell would I pay to go through a class to RO a sport I don't participate in. I shoot steel Challenge. I and many others have been RO ing it for many years with zero support from USPSA. Why should a shooter that is willing to volunteer their time to RO have to Pay to get certified to officiate a sport?????. The RO doesn't get paid but USPSA is a business making a profit????? SCSA needs their own RO's class.
  23. Weapon shield is the best gun lube made
  24. Retire the stage. Build a new stage with the same targets, so there is no new targets needed. Make the stage fit into a 25 yd. deep bay. This will allow many clubs to use another stage. Personally I like outer limits. It is a heck of a challenge. It would be good to give clubs another option. It won't change who the winners are one bit because the same people will still be the fastest.
