  1. I just read over the rules one more time for Tactical class.... so we "can't" have 45 degree offset iron sights on our AR it looks like... am I reading that correctly....only 1 optic?? just need to know if I need to take them off
  2. any news on when application process starts for 2014.... it will be my first time if I get in and I am excited
  3. New to reloading, just wanted to ask a quick question for perspective. What is the optimum FPS to hit with loading 9mm. I am shooting 3 gun and not concerned with power factor other than other than needing reliability, accuracy, knocking down steel. I have shot loads in the 975fps, 900, 875, 850fps. So far my pistol has fired all with no malfunctions, and I have knocked down heavy poppers with all of the above. I was told to target 925fps out of my pistol, but I am not certain which way to go. I bought some Atlanta Arms 147's and they chrono in the 870's, they shoot really soft and I like them. I really like shooting the ones in the 875-850fps range as they are really soft and shoot well out of my gun. My main question to all this is there an issue with pressure spikes in the casings, added pressure to my pistol if I consistently shoot the softer loads? I just want to make sure I am being safe, do I need to keep my velocity in the 900 range to avoid those worries. I would appreciate any advice
  4. This is my first TFD as well, and I am so freakin' excited! Quick question, Are we able to drive to all of the stages or will 3G Carts/ATV be necessary? Looking at videos seems like you can drive but wanted to clarify... and on the possibility of checking zero on that Thursday registration?
  5. I finally got a benelli M2 at the end of last year, and now I am trying to figure out which chokes to get. I was hoping to buy a set of Brileys so i would have a case with all of the chokes i would need for 3 gun. When I look at buying them, there are a million different types, thin wall, titanium, ported, mobil, etc... can someone please enlighten me on which types of briley chokes would be ideal for 3 gun?
  6. Does anyone know if the recoil spring on the M&P pro is different than the regular models? I ordered a wolf spring kit for M&P from brownells to tune my pistol and the springs look like 1911 style springs, and the spring in my Pro looks totally different, sharper edges and half the size... It looks to me like you would have to replace the whole spring assembley: guide rod and spring in order to change spring weight. Can anyone enlighten me on this and if so where can I get the right ones?
  7. Good luck with your purchase, I have one on order myself, It's a 40 and I recently added the 9mm conversion for a sight tracker, still have several months of waiting but I am psyched about having my first SV. I am in the same boat I wanted one gun to do everything, I have been shooting mainly 3 gun but I am hoping to start playing with some USPSA once I get it.
  8. Thanks guys, and thanks Matt, I am going to put it in my larue mount i just ordered and I am going to try to spend one more range day on it and if I cant get it I am going to take to SWFA since they are local and see if they can look at it. I went and checked out that leupold and I really just like my swfa...I got to find a way to make it work. Thanks for the advice, I'll see how it turns out. Matt do you think since I am running it on my 14 bushmaster with front sight post/gas, that maybe that could cause some problems, you can see the front sight in the scope.... this is a temporary setup until I get my other rifle which is hopefully soon. I have been running this rifle for the last 3-4 months with no problems with my other scope but you cant see the post in that one, just curious
  9. 2nd year in 3 gun, bought a SWFA 1-4 donut reticle, got a good deal on it, and I love the reticle but I am having issues with it...working on double checking mounting, etc to make sure its not me.... issues with zeroing, however I wondered if anyone has tried the leupold vx-r 1.25-4x20 for 3 gun? I have always run leupolds and actually was running a leupold 2-7 when i started 3 gun bc it was all that I had. It works great but I want something with a donut style reticle for quick target aquisition....I have been looking at other options in case I can't get my SWFA working.. Can anyone offer some knowledge on the leupold, or thoughts on my current scope? I also wondered if a 1.25 power was much disadvantage to an acutual 1 power
  10. im shooting one more match this weekend and then it's off to Jeff for a workover, I will post my results once i get it back
  11. awesome... thank you all for the input, I really liked talking to Jeff sounded like a good place to do business, just wanted to do some homework, I'll be sending it in as soon as I get back
  12. I have a FN that I have been shooting for 3 gun, and it's time to have the reloads made smoother, I have been thinking about sending it to C-rums, I have heard of a couple of other people on the forum to look at but I was curious if anyone has ever used C-Rums, and what they thought about the quality of work, etc. The lead times and price seemed good, Jeff was very friendly, but I want to have it done correct, I am looking to have the load port beveled, polished, change the carrier etc...just what ever is recomended for easier loading. Appreciate any feedback
