Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. i am cross as well (left eye, right hand) and i simply look down the sights with my left eye. no problems. i used to close one, but ive been able to keep them open and change focus over depth of field intuitively for a while now
  2. awesome. thanks guys. its weird how you can find almost anything on the internet, but at first glance, the ausitn shooting scene looks dead. like its reds and reds only. but the more you really dig... anyone know where i can snatch up some cheap mags and a holster? gonna be looking at gt distributors in a few days...
  3. yeah, are those the long things i used to wear on my shoulder on watch? to me its like algebra and geometry. you can be good at both, but youre always better at one in particular, at least in my experience. i LOVE shooting ANYTHING, but am a much better pistol shot than a rifle shot. (in military, particularly navy, standards: expert pistol, sharpshooter rifle, though i have shot much more since then)
  4. sig says its cool unless dry firing is "extensive", and to count my "dry rounds". how much is extensive?
  5. is dry fire training without snap caps a good idea on the hammer-fired sig pro sp2022 9mm? is it causing damage to my firing pin or is it harmless and a great training tool for working on my draws/reloads/transitions? or both and i should stop and load up on 9mm snap caps?
  6. anyone run a sig pro sp2022 in 9mm in IDPA SSP? thoughts? my only weapon at the moment, is why i am curious. soon as i snatch up some mags and holsters ill be in the first match i can! also random side question: are spectators allowed at IDPA matches? seems like a dumb question, but hey.
  7. thanks you guys, awesome info!!!! name's mike, and i grew up here but just moved back in 2010 after getting out of the navy. ARC hasnt emailed me back yet about starting a membership. should i just head up there? i work at samsung, which is pretty close. how is that range by the way? the facilities seem AWESOME, but not too specific on the website. if you are a memeber, do you police yourself at the range? kind of seems like it, since the membership requirements are what they are.
  8. interesting about the combat sighting. i have a new 2022 in 9mm. only 150rds so far, but loving it to death. i was noticing about 2" low and even a tad right, but it was inconsistent over the shoot, so i chalked it up to getting familliar with the new sig.
  9. check the slidelock lever spring, and that the notch on the empty mag that activates it is positively engaging it.
  10. hey everybody my name is Mike, i live and work in Austin, TX. Ex-navy cruise missile tech (tomahawk, FC2(SW)) just bought a new sigpro 2022 in 9mm. looking to get into some practical/comp shooting be it IPSC or 3g. look forward to shootin it with you all!
