I'm baffled that Dillon doesn't have a Bullet Feeder...
-
Did any of you guys shoot the infamous stage with the Piano and the full size doll you have to put in the box? Then the total mind game set of ports....
I remember the guns and a "Gift Certificate" to the Moonlight Bunny ranch being prizes!

Thanks for the data point!
Loaded some at 4.6 at lunch, hope to get some range time soon to test!

Hello: It is an easy adapter to make. Working on the one for my single stack right now. It needs to hold the holster up higher than my limited holster. The limited one is 4 drilled holes and 2 tapped holes. The single stack one will have 3 drilled holes and about 8 tapped holes. Thanks, Eric
"Easy" is relative. Sounds like you have access to Tap and die kit... and other tools that most of us don't have at hand.
I would like to see a picture of your adaptor

I'm hoping some Entrepreneur will start producing the adaptor.

I got one of my presses swapped back for .40 late last night. I'll report back after I get a chance to shoot some of the longer ammo... It will be likely be next week. My band has a gig this weekend... so I'll be making a bunch of noise with some other boyz and toys!
-
I went ahead and loading 25 at 1.180 and 4.5 last night while I was getting the 550 set up. I'll bump it up to 4.6...4.7... repeat as necessary.
Just wanted be sure I wasn't going to "hurt" anything starting at 4.5

New FA scale got here today. Came with a powder pan and a case. Self Cal's on start up, easy to read display, settles fast and seems really consistent.
For $28 bucks? What's not to like!

I've searched and found charge weights from 4.6 to over 5.0 of Titegroup.
Ive got Xtreme 180 Gr. HP and plan of starting with an OAL of 1.180
Something close to PF that I can work up from in the 5" STI?

I checked at lunch and a .40 sure fit nice in the shell plate. Looked like a perfect fit with the button and indexed just fine...
You guys have me rethinking this, may just get the tool head for the RL1050 and spend the extra on the Bullet feeder!

Interesting...
Both small primer so I wouldn't have to change that at least.

How do i get rid of the water spots?
Spin them in a media separator (to separate the pins and spin off as much water as possible), put them in a bath towel and do what Steve noted above, then lay them out on the towel single layer and use another towel to pat them down. Works for me.
I started with the "slosh in a bucket" like they talk about in the FA manual but quickly decided that wasn't going to cut it. I pulled down my Dillon separator and dumped in everything. Spinning got most of the water off and some of the pins out. I picked up what I could with the magnet and spun some more... repeat a few times and the cases were just damp. Clean up all the pins again and then dumped the brass into a towel. Agitated when ever I walked by and overnight everything was dry!
Now I wonder if I should just sell the Dillon vibrator and put the cash toward another press!

What's so hard about changing the shell plate on a 1050?
Oh yea, will need a caliber change kit as well, but I would still go to the 1050.
jj
Don't know, never done it... Mine's be set up for 9x21 and never done anything else
Found a couple of Youtubes but both showed only changing the tool head...not the shell plate.
-
I'll admit I'm not a fan of pushing up to "feel" the primer seat. I'll look into a tool head but If I have to change the shell plate...

Ordered the FA at lunch. 2 day Amazon Prime... $28.
I get it that stuff breaks but apparently PACT's no "BS" warranty was really "We won't BS you...there's no warranty." Lesson learned. Amazing that I can buy a whole digital scale DELVERED for $8 more than they wanted for the shipping BACK to me.

After reading this:

I think I'd go AFTEC if I was replacing it myself.

I have a 1050 set up for 9x21 and loved it. I really don't want to monkey with it. I have a 550 that I COULD roll over to .40 but what's the fun in that?
After seen the price of a 650xl vs. the 1050 ( THE PRICE of the 1050 HAS GONE WAY UP, since the last time I bought a press) I think maybe a 650XL with the case feeder and the Mr. Bullet feeder might be faster and easier to load on than the 1050...
Thoughts?

So my PACT digital scale came up FAIL...not error 1, not error 2.
I called PACT and the very nice man on the phone said "Not Error 1?" Nope FAIL.
"Oh you'll have to send it in"
"OK"
"You'll need to send 19.95 for return shipping and it will be another $35 if the load cell is bad"
"Ok, what's the turn around time"
"Oh that goes over to the assembly shop, I don't know how long it will take..."
SO it will cost between 19.95 and $54.95 to get it fixed. And no idea how long....
That's a non-starter.
Quick look on Amazon shows a new FA Digital Scale for 28.99 and I'll have it in two days.
I'm pretty happy with the FA Tumbler.
Any Feedback on their Digital Scale?

I think reloaders tend to be a touch optimistic at times. I figure running MG 124's comes out to about $0.17 per round at less than massive bulk quantities. $0.096 bullet, $0.028 Win primer, $0.03 brass, $0.022 powder. Sometimes I get brass free and sometimes I don't so that cost fluctuates. No matter what, buying in bulk is key and the bullet is really the critical cost component. I'm willing to spend the money on good jacketed stuff and quality primers.
It's true but... With some shopping you can load ammo that's JUST what you need at a savings over factory. Key is not blink when you see a good deal on components.

Hello: You will have to make the adapters. I made one for my limited gun and will make one for my single stack as soon as the kit gets here. I like the support pad on these and the one on my other holster. I am using a 1/8" think plate of aluminum for the adapters. Easy project if you are a little handy. Thanks, Eric
Understood, I'm having trouble finding time to reload and shoot... don't really want to add "project". Might just go with the BOSS since it bolts up.
OR just get a Safariland Holster like I probably should have from the start.

New gun and no pictures!?

I like it!

I bet the squirrel is PISSED after you jam him in that thing!

I've been running the stock 14 pound spring for break in. I just swapped in a 12 pound at this cleaning and I'm looking to getting it out and see how it runs with it.
