Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Right now i have the Youngs superlight carrier in my gun paired with the SCS spring and syrac gas block. 18" rifle gas and it works great without the spring pack. I've never fiddled with the spring pack though. I do have (2) new JP low mass BCG's here that i won't be using if any of you guys are searching for one.
  2. I can't leave well enough alone. I am putting together a 16" middy upper with a pencil barrel, Syrac Ordnance adjustable gas block, Samson evolution 15" handguard I had custom anodized green. There are a few local maches that only shoot 100 yards as well as the Pro Series so I'm gonna mess around with shorter and lighter. Pics when finished. I want to see that HG.I'm surprised that the new Seekins brake has not entered the discussion, for a while it seemed like it was the end all be all of brakes and now I don't see anyone mentioning it. CM I'm using the Seekins brake and I've been pretty happy with it. It is still much louder than a flashhider, but certainly not as loud as an SJC or some others i have heard.
  3. Sounds like you have everything accounted for. The BCG is the toughest part to find... but the in-stock thread on AR15.com is really helpful. If you watch that, you should be abe to find one. If you are trying to go with low mass internals, I have an extra new low mass JP BCG I could sell you for regular price.
  4. I just bought one and its a nice piece. I haven't ran it so I can't comment there. I can say that compared to the two other BCG's sitting next to it, its a really nice looking part.
  5. Thanks, I hope to make it out to the first match and at least check things out.
  6. I was under the impression that normal gas blocks wouldn't fit because of the fine print on their website. "The barrel ships with gas block installed. This barrel is designed for our gas block that is 1" long(INCLUDED). A standard front sight base is 1.9" long and WILL NOT FIT. Barrel installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Installation of the gas block dowel pin and gas block is required to complete the assembly process." http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bin/imcart/display.cgi?item_id=b-18lw-556&cat=158&page=1&search=&since=&status=&title= I guess it does say sight base...can i install a syrac on this barrel?
  7. I'm a causal shooter, here because of the 3-gun knowledge and the classifieds. I've lurked for a long time but never posted. I've owned several guns but just now getting my first AR together. I want one while I still can, and would like to try some 3 gun shooting. Not much going on in Minnesota this time of year, maybe a little indoor shooting. Its a great time of the year to order parts and stock some ammo.
  8. I tried carrying an XDM but I changed it up to carrying an LCP now. XDM 3.8 was borderline too thick in summer clothes on my smaller frame. I found myself leaving it behind because of the inconvenience and i didn't want it printing. I'm not the biggest fan of a .380 round... but my theory is that I am better off with the .380 on my body than the .40 sitting at home because it was too thick!
  9. I've acquired a couple barrels and I can't decide which one to use. My goal is to build an 18" rifle that will be used for 3-gun and shooting (just among friends) from the bench. I want it to be lightweight and shoot flat. I have... Light contour Noveske 18" NST barrel (intermediate gas length, factory fixed gas block) 32oz White Oak Armament 18" SPR barrel in rifle length gas 41oz Dilema comes here... I also have a Young Manufacturing super light BCG. Love the weight on the Noveske but with the non-adjustable gas block and intermediate gas length, will I even realize the benefit of the lighter BCG? I am considering using the White Oak Barrel and sending it to Adco for fluting or re-profiling. This way I will have the rifle gas length and I can run an adjustable block. I also have a standard semi-auto BCG I could use. What do you guys think? I'm using a Lancer XL carbon handguard and would like the gun to balance with the CTR stock i have for now.
