Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Dawson's latest run of sights for the EAA line has moved the locking screw from the middle position to the rear to match where the factory sight screws in, eliminating the need to drill your own dimple. That _should_ eliminate the problem with sights flying off (I experienced the same thing, but it was my first crack at sight installation, and I screwed it up pretty bad). The new sight also fits flush on the end.
  2. It was the first powder I ever loaded, so I don't know. It's fast, but not as fast as Clays. Unique is a fairly good analog for Universal Clays. I don't know about Unique (only used it in Houston, where temperature was always warm to hot), and I don't have crono data to back this up, but Universal Clays _seems_ to loose a lite bit of power on cold days. My sub-minor steel load would work fine at the indoor range, but fail to cycle the gun on cold outdoor days (40 degrees or below). I typically use light oil over grease, so I don't think lubricant viscosity was a contributing factor. http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html
  3. I just purchased a Limited in 9mm, and also had a load question : What kind of maximum OAL are y'all able to load to? I had been loading to 1.15 for my XDM production gun, but that appears to be too long for the Tanfoglio. Current Load (Steel): 3.8gn of Universal Clays OAL 1.15 135gn Bear Creek (Moly) PF - unknown, but sub-minor for sure
  4. CED now has replacement parts for the Double Alpha mag pouches. I also had the screw, roller, and thumb screw fall out a month or two after starting to use the pouches. CED wants $12 for each replacement set. I'm going to see what the local hardware store has for me.
  5. I'm having problems keeping my KWA 1911 PTP MK I running. So far, I've gone through two magazines with the same failure: follower will not retract after 10-15 mags worth of BBs. I've tried lubricated and not lubricated, carefully cleaned out the channel, etc. Anyone else having these problems? Anyone have a fix? My second mag is en-route back to KWA, with hopes they will offer a solution. The other minor niggle I'm seeing is if you load the pistol to 14 rounds, the follower will lock at the bottom after the first round is fired. No big deal (just load 12 or 13), but I'd like to know if it's just me or not. Love the pistol, ton of fun having something to practice with in my shop.
