  1. Thanks. I’ll call on Monday. Just wanted to see if there was something simple I was missing.
  2. I have an ar9 that I built using a qc10 lower, timney single stage trigger, and a JP 9mm bolt. I’m having issues with the trigger not resetting properly. I think I have it narrowed down, if I pull the trigger and keep the trigger pressed back as the bolt cycles it takes much more force to reset the sear than it does to do the same if the trigger is not held pressed back and it seems like it might be enough of an issue to cause the 1 out of 25 failures I’m having with the gun. Does anyone have any experience with these timney single stage at triggers. Is there possibly an adjust I can make to solve this issue. Thanks for any help.
  3. I checked the face for sharpe edges and the edges around the extractor were very sharpe but I sanded them down and have still experienced the issue. I have pulled and cleaned the extractor and made sure it is installed what seems to be correctly but no help.
  4. Thanks. I used the same extractor right off of my factory slide. I'm not really sure how to check that tension or adjust it. When it fails I can move it forward with my hand but I have to hit it pretty hard. I I'll double check the breach face for edges or burrs later today. Thanks for the ideas
  5. Need some help trouble shooting. I have a glock 34 gen 4 and purchased an aftermarket stainless steel slide. Put the new slide on and now have a ftf one out of every 10-15 rounds. The rounds sticks like it's bound in the extractor and if I force the slide forward it will feed and shoot fine. It may be unrelated but it seems to be worse when I take a proper grip on the gun and happens less with a one handed grip. Any thoughts on a starting point? I have considered I may need to swap the factory recoil spring to match a slightly different slide weight or maybe some custom fitting for the new slide. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Ok great thanks for the input. Any other recommendations that would have a larger glass aside from the RMR?
  7. Also I do know that even when the S3G trigger won't work, a Giesselle Super Semi-Automatic will. The hammer design is different between the 2. The SSA hammer is pushed far enough down to engage the sear while the S3G is not.
  8. I had the same issue with a psa bolt and qc10 lower. If you really want single stage, same as I did, I went with the timney 3lb single stage. I still would rather have the Gisselle but it is still a good single stage trigger.
  9. Just as a disclaimer this is my first adventure into pistol optics and I haven't gotten the result I was hoping for. I have a Glock 17 gen 4 that I mounted a Burris fast fire red dot onto a rear sight mount. Even after a few hundred rounds through the gun I still have a very hard time finding the dot. I feel like I have to have the gun at an awkward grip angle completely different from what I'm used to with standard sights. Is this a standard result with this type of mount? Would switching to a frame mount help my issue and if so any recommendations on which mount? Or is this just something I have to retrain for if I want to shoot open. Thanks for any input.
  10. If you decide to build I found a ton of in stock parts at joeboboutfitters.com they had new frontier armory stuff in stock. I didn't have many parts compatibility issues that some people have complained about. Actually only had one. You cannot use a Gisselle super 3 gun single stage trigger with any 9mm bolt, the bolt doesn't push the hammer down far enough to engage the sear. But I did find a working alternative single stage trigger in the timney 3lb single stage, although I really would have preferred the Gisselle. I went qc10 lower standard AR upper and psa bolt. I have seen good reviews on the new frontier armory stuff and probably would have gone that way if I knew about it at the time considering its almost half the price.
  11. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Glock-Magazine-Clamps-Glock-Magazine-Coupler-1-pair-/201433772444 these work well for Glock mags
  12. Something to add on the topics of triggers and buffers. I built mine on a quarter circle 10 lower and standard ar15 upper and psa bolt. It doesn't matter what bolt you have, a Geisselle super 3 gun trigger will not work. That style hammer will not be pushed down far enough to engage the sear with the 9mm bolt. I really wanted a light single stage and ended up with a Timney 3lb single stage that works well. On the buffer I went to heavybuffers.com and picked up their 9mm 8.5 ounce buffer and it has worked flawlessly and the added weight does wonders with the recoil impulse. Shoots much softer and flatter with the extra weight.
  13. I recently built a 9mm AR on a quarter circle 10 glock mag lower. I went with a heavybuffers.com 8.5ounce carbine buffer and the extra buffer weight brought the recoil impulse down to very light and manageable. Also, something that made a big difference in my decision on which platform was the availability and cost of magazines. I run the ETS Glock 31 rd mags and can easily and relatively inexpensivly add an extension and have 35 round mags that will run in 5 guns I have. Unfortunately I haven't had any experience behind the MPX but some of these pros and the cost made my decision easy for the AR platform.
  14. I have 3 Geisselles. 2 SSA-e and a National match DMR, that I just installed in my lr308, and a Timney 3lb single stage. The Geisselles are buy far my favorite and the National match is a great choice for your setup if you like a two stage trigger.
  15. I called today, and apparently when I talked to the sales person on the phone and he told me three weeks the first time he was completely full of it. Their standard lead time for a production barrel is 6-10 weeks so I'm within that but they did apologize and said she would have it out to me today. I'm less upset because that makes more sense but still feel like they are responsible for what their reps say on the phone. Live and learn, it has probably cost them any future business from me regardless of the quality of the product. Thanks for your insight.
  16. Unfortunately I did pay upfront. They certainly deducted their money fast. But I thought that was pretty safe with this company. I think I'm going to call today and talk to somebody and hopefully get an accurate reasonable time table. If not I probably will be asking for my money back, although I'm not sure how that will go.
  17. Hey guys I'm looking for some opinions about if I should complain to a manufacturer at this point. I ordered a LR308 barrel from a company who, for the moment, is going to remain nameless. I ordered over the phone with a sales rep and was told "should be out in three weeks". 4 weeks passed and no barrel so I emailed. I was told there had been a problem with a "mismarked" piece and they had start over. Was told 3 weeks and it should be out at that point. Here I sit 5 weeks later, for a total of 9 weeks since order and no barrel and radio silence from them. My question is, am I being impatient or is this bad customer service that I should complain about and others should know about. Thanks for any input.
  18. Thanks for the response. Yea after I put the project down last night I went and compared to a gen 3 19 I have and realized my issue. Since I have this here and it looks like it will work no problem I think I am going to take the dremmel to the comp I have doesn't need much material removed and shouldn't hurt the function of the comp and it's aluminum so I don't even have to worry about it rusting where I take the finish off. And if it doesn't work then a new comp it is. Again thanks for your help
  19. G17. I got the guide rod and spring and am trying to put it together. I am having some trouble with the guide rod and comp still even with the stainless steel guide rod the gun won't rack the guide rod and hole on the bottom of the comp don't line up. Is it normal for these type things to have to be "fitted" or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help
  20. Guys I picked up a zev stainless steel guid rod and the gen 4 reducing ring to go with it. I have installed the guide rod and screwed the compensator down and the slide will not rack. It looks like the hole for the guide rod on the compensator does not go far enough down. Is it normal to have to "fit" these or am I doing something wrong?
  21. Ok thanks for the info just wasn't sure so some tephlon tape or red loctite and just screw it down until it is as close as it will go and indexed properly thanks
  22. I bought a used lone wolf barrel and carver three port comp. Getting ready to put it in my G17 and since I don't have any install instruction and zero experience with these I wanted to sure up the install procedure. Very little info on a google search except one thread that talked about threading the comp on with some loctite. Is it this all that is necessary? Thanks for any help.
  23. Yea I went ahead and ordered the 12 lbs spring as well. Thanks for the help.
  24. I have not shot it yet the slide won't even rack. Thanks for the info I went ahead and ordered the zev ss guide rod, adapter and a new spring really needed the upgrade anyway was still stock equipment and way over what the springs are supposed to last.
  25. Picked up a used carver three port comp without realizing the guid rod was going to be an issue. The comp has a small hole designed for the GeN 3 guid rod. Any cheaper options than picking up a new comp? I'm sure there are guide rod adapters just wanted to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks
