    Gray vs. Burke?

From the USPSA perspective .... Swapping out INTERNAL parts is LEGAL under the current rules and rules that take affect on May 18, 2018. Internal parts DOES NOT include the trigger (PELT). Now .... once May 18th comes, you can run whatever trigger, mag release, slide release, etc.
  3. Agreed! I totally understand the 'purist' point of view and half of my heart agrees with them. Then, there is the 'other' side that WANTS the extended Springer Mag release and the GGI PELT2 trigger. Is it gonna instantly going to make me jump classification, straight to GM .... help me beat those at my level locally with ease??? Nope, notda! Cold day in hell. Will I enjoy shooting a little more due to 'perceived' more comfort and ease of working the mag release and using a better trigger ... definitely! BTW, I would have been fine with the decision going either way. What am *I* gonna change come May 18th on my SIG P320 X5? 1) Extended Mag release 2) GGI PELT2 trigger 3) Add the Springer Floor Plates inside my mags. THAT IS IT! Again, Is it gonna instantly going to make me jump classification, straight to GM ..... NOPE. ....now to go Dry Fire and put in REAL work to get better! Carry On Ladies and Gents
  4. I'll throw in my $0.02 ... 1) Make ‘Master' in USPSA Production by end of June 2) Maintain present dry fire schedule 3) Live fire at least once a week 4) Start a true study of competitive shooting to advance by learning from the past 5) Compete in 3 or 4 out-of-state Level 2 or 3 matches 6) Attend at least one training class 7) Maintain workout schedule 8) Work on flexibility and movement 9) Back on track with nutritional plan prior to 2017 surgeries 10) Learn to focus on being 100% engaged in the moment. (family time, workouts, shooting, work)
  5. You should have reached out ... I replaced my stock 0.235 with a 0.205. You could have had it.
  6. That behavior is what is going to make you a great squad mate and overall competitor! EVERYONE will DQ sometime during their participation in the sport. Another reason to start learning to hold the gun high (at eye level) for 2 reasons ... 1) keeps 'free' hand to perform tasks without sweeping it, and 2) Gun is already at level to re-acquire your next target after task is done with 'free' hand or movement is completed. Keeping the gun high reduces those 0.2-0.4 seconds it take to raise the gun back to eye level. Works 99% of the time ... there will always be stages out there where you HAVE TO lower the gun to actually move. Like running from the downrange to uprange ... got to keep the muzzle upgrange ... Again ... you are starting out with the right spirit by not becoming 'sore' but sticking around to help ... and by that you are learning without the stress of shooting too!
  7. BINGO... Worked like a charm!
  8. Presently running: 135gr SNS RN VV N320 @ 3.68gr (+/- 0.002) 1.130 OAL CCI #500 primers 130-131 PF
  9. I have *NOT* tested my competition loads in the new X5 yet...but I ran the following load at the 2016 USPSA Production Nationals and all matches there after in my GrayGuns customized P320: BlueBullets 147gr round nose 1.140 OAL ALL same cases (Starline, Blazer, FC, and SPEER) VV N320 @ 3.2gr CCI #500 primers
  10. For MY reloads ... 13# runs great
  11. Running P320 X5 ... I have found .. if you are running the Springer X5 Tungsten guide rod ... AND the Springer competition floor plates (inside mag)... AND the Springer EZ .375" base pads ... YOU WILL be overweight for USPSA production by about 0.15oz. All I did was remove the competition floor plates and replace with stock floor plates. Puts you about 0.20oz under the max weight. Hope that helps!
  12. +1 for Chris ... Not worth extra expense unless you need the features. (OPEN and LIM/LIM10)
  13. 06/03/2014 POINTS: 28 TIME: 3.79 MATCH POINTS: 30 HIT FACTOR: 7.3879 On http://www.classifiercalc.com says it's 91.7124%
  14. 147gr bullet 1.100 OAL 3.3gr Titegroup. 3. will work, but better safe than sorry when you walk up to a chrono
  15. +1 on not only Steve Anderson's books... but Ben Stoeger's also. Acquire as much information as you can...then form your OWN hybrid option and methods.

    New Glock 34

+1 on the TTI sights and stick with the 4.5# striker spring.
  17. +1 on the KKM barrel... and yes, you can tell the difference in accuracy - especially @ 25-50 yds
  18. G34, gen3 GlockStore Captured Heavy Tungsten Guide Rod 11# Recoil Spring 4.5# Striker Spring w/zev tech skeletonized extended striker KKM Barrel White (.40/.357Gap) Spring-loading Bearing LOAD: 135gr Xtreme RNFP, 3.5 TG, 1.130 OAL--PF approx 131-134 Kicks the brass out to the right about 3-4 feet...VERY smooth operation...no "non-ammo" FTE in over 30k rounds. **Now** ... I did try a 13# GlockStore Captured Heavy Tungsten Guide Rod ... and I was having extraction issues. Cases were just 'rolling' out of the pistol..maybe 3-6 inches...had a couple FTEs Went back 11# spring. Battery test works every time with 11# and 13# springs.
  19. +1 for the DK triggers ... VERY adjustable... but take note of Daniel's recommendations ... they are 'preset' before he ships them... if you mess with the pre & over travel screws...it may take you awhile to reset them is you adjust too much and either the trigger does not work.or it disables some safeties... which is illegal in USPSA PROD guns.
  20. G34, Gen3, KKM Barrel 135gr RNFP 3.5gr TiteGroup 1.125 OAL 131-133 PF
  21. +1 for Ben's books ... and ALSO Steve Anderson's books... knowledge is power...and eventually, you will form you OWN opinion of the times required for YOUR best performance...
  22. I dry fire probably 3-4 days a week, 20-30 minutes per session. It's early in the AM when I do it... so have to wait until the coffee kicks in before I start.. In May, I am going to try and go to the local range at lunch and get at least 50-100 rds down range with something that I am practicing.
  23. I prefer to stay with the same 'platforms' for competition and carry. G34 with DK trigger, 13# Tungsen recoil spring for competition, KKM barrel G19 with 'polished' stock trigger and 15# S/S Recoil spring, stock barrel but plan to replace with KKM
