  1. Here's my load data out of a 5 inch + threading barrel Temp was 65 Degrees and sunny at approx 7,000 feet ASL Using a CE Pro Chrono Digital at 15 Feet. I was loading mixed headstamp once fired 9mm brass, Remington SPP, MG 124 CMJ, Loaded to 1.183 OAL, Powder is Ramshot Silhouette 7.0 Gr, 163 PF, 1315 Fps Avg, 8.7 SD 7.2 Gr, 168 PF, 1355 Fps Avg, 15.4 SD 7.4 Gr, 171 PF, 1378 Fps Avg, 11.1 SD 7.6 Gr, 174 PF, 1404 Fps Avg, 11.6 SD 7.8 Gr, 176 PF, 1420 Fps Avg, 7.4 SD 8.0 Gr, 181 PF, 1459 Fps Avg, 5.0 SD
  2. Hopefully you can find one that will work for you, those are the only ones I'm aware of.
  3. What gun are you shooting? Most of the 1/2x28 9mm Comps I've seen are for M&Ps, XDs, and Glocks. Check out Carver Customs, they have comps that are the same shape as the slide contour and will work with holsters that are open ended like the Serpa or some of the kydex holsters, though the comp will protrude from the bottom. Jaeger Products also makes some, listed as compatable with Lone wolf barrels. Try giving Bobby Carver a call, he should be able to let you know which of his is the thinnest if you're shooting something that isn't one of those, just because it is designed for one of those guns it should still work on anything with the correct threading.
  4. I'd check out XLR industries http://www.xlrindustries.com/ (for some reason I can't get this hyperlink to work) They have buttstocks adjustable for length, height, and cant. Also, I believe with the LuthAR stock you'd need an adaptor http://mdttac.com/fixed-stock-adapter-v2.html it has a rifle style attachment like an A2 Stock or the Magpul PRS, when the LSS is designed for a carbine style attachment. They also have a folding device if you're interested in that.
  5. PC13, Based on what JeffWard said in post #16 (and CrawfishStu in post #11) the DAA probably won't work. It doesn't look like the Manny Bragg, Ghost, or Safariland will work either. I'd try calling Bobby Carver and see what he recommends, he's been quick to answer questions for me before.
  6. I also tested with 115 Gr Horn FMJ RN. 1.18 OAL. Win SPP. 9.0 Gr - 163.4 PF 9.2 Gr - 166.3 PF 9.4 Gr - 168.4 PF 9.6 Gr - 171.4 PF 9.8 Gr - 175.8 PF Still need to refine my 115 Gr Loads with MG CMJs

  8. Unfortunately I didn't get to shoot much side by side with the old ammo. I was mostly trying to make sure I could make major. I noticed some difference in the dot tracking, notably it's diffing low at the end with the same recoil spring, I should probably bump down to the 13# spring and see if I can prevent that. At least I can tell it's shooting flatter. Time for me to load up another 100 and shoot them side by side with my old load and a timer. Thank you for the advice. I still think I'll test a couple of the Glock comps and see if I can get it even better but this is a definite step in the right direction.
  9. Just got back from chronoing some loads. I was using some 115gr Hornady FMJ ammo since I could get it locally for testing. Using 3N38 loaded to 1.180. These are all quite compressed loads and care is required in making them to not spill powder. Unfortunately I ran out of light at the end of the day and only the one round of 9.8 gr actually registered on the chrono. 9.0 gr 163 PF 9.2 gr 166 PF 9.4 gr 168 PF 9.6 gr 171 PF 9.8 gr 176 PF
  10. That's great to hear, I'll have to try it. I'm loading 1.180.
  11. I'm not sure if I have enough case capacity to run 115s with 3N38, based on a quick search I can't find anyone successfully running it in a 9 Maj, I think it would be pushing 10gr. I might try with Silhouette and it looks like that'll be around 8.5 gr, but that would give me less gas going through the same comp with even more muzzle energy. I might buy some 115s and give it a shot but I think that it could be a move in the wrong direction.

    M&P Comp

Currently I have a Carver 4 Port Comp but I am getting far more muzzle flip than I want. I'm shooting MG 124 CMJs over 8.8gr 3N38 and getting about 171 PF. I'm using a 15 lb recoil spring. I can get it to shoot flatter but feel like I'm just beating my frame when I get above 175. I'm considering getting a more effective comp, but I'm running into the problem that my barrel is threaded 1/2 x 28 and not many comps are available with this thread pitch. I feel like my options left are buying a barrel with a different pitch or getting a custom made comp. I would really like something that will allow me to get down to a 11-13 lb spring without beating up my frame. Any suggestions on where to start on a custom comp?
  13. I was having a more severe light strike issue, probably once every 50 rounds, and changing out the hammer spring fixed the issue immediately. Another possibility is the spring that provides back pressure on the firing pin to stop slam fires is too strong. If you're ordering a new hammer spring you might as well order a enw one of those and replace them at the same time and see if it fixes the problem.
  14. Any new updates on how the comp is working out?
  15. From my most recent load development. 124 MG CMJ, 1.18, Rem SPP 8.0 gr 3N38 - 164.6 PF 8.2 gr 3N38 - 165.8 PF 8.4 gr 3N38 - 168.6 PF 8.6 gr 3N38 - 169.0 PF 8.8 gr 3N38 - 173.5 PF 9.0 gr 3N38 - 174.9 PF 9.2 gr 3N38 - 177.9 PF 9.4 gr 3N38 - 181.2 PF For Ramshot Silhouette 7.0 Gr, 163 PF, 1315 Fps 7.2 Gr, 168 PF, 1355 Fps 7.4 Gr, 171 PF, 1378 Fps 7.6 Gr, 174 PF, 1404 Fps 7.8 Gr, 176 PF, 1420 Fps 8.0 Gr, 181 PF, 1459 Fps Between these two, the 3N38 is noticeably flatter shooting. For Reference I'm shooting a open M&P 9mm. 5" KKM barrel with the Carver 4 port comp
  16. I only shot about 120 rounds but they are quite clean, no flakes, just a fine black carbon coating like I see with most 9mm factory loads.
  17. I just ran some test loads through my Chrono Today And I thought I would pass the info along to anyone interested. I was shooting a M&P Pro with a KKM 5 inch barrel + threading for a Carver 4 Port Comp. Temp was 65 Degrees and sunny at approx 7,000 feet ASL Using a CE Pro Chrono Digital at 15 Feet. I was loading mixed headstamp once fired 9mm brass, Remington SPP, MG 124 CMJ, Loaded to 1.183 OAL. I started at 7.0 Gr working up 0.2 Gr at a time looking for pressure signs on primers, Powder is Ramshot Silhouette 7.0 Gr, 163 PF, 1315 Fps Avg, 8.7 SD 7.2 Gr, 168 PF, 1355 Fps Avg, 15.4 SD 7.4 Gr, 171 PF, 1378 Fps Avg, 11.1 SD 7.6 Gr, 174 PF, 1404 Fps Avg, 11.6 SD 7.8 Gr, 176 PF, 1420 Fps Avg, 7.4 SD 8.0 Gr, 181 PF, 1459 Fps Avg, 5.0 SD I had some 8.2 Gr rounds loaded but didn't see the need to exceed 181 PF. I'm not even seeing flattened primers at 180 but don't see the need to run the gun that hot. It also felt best around 7.6-7.8 Gr
  18. From here http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=157295&page=6 So it looks like the Hornady Match 75 Gr at 2760 with a 200 yd zero.
  19. Nope, they are considered an external modification, like the Apex FSS trigger.
  20. I did, they're off to anodize right now, I hope they're back next week and then we'll get them on the website. I can't find these on the store and I've been really looking forward to buying a couple. Did I miss when they went up for sale or have they not been put on the website yet?
  21. I'm not aware of anyone making a metal magwell for M&Ps that will allow the factory basepads, but there is a quite small plastic one here http://www.smartlock.com/SWThumbMagwell.htm just scroll down past the thumb rest. It's so small though it seems almost pointless to me compared to something like the SSS magwells.
  22. I put a Jard, single stage 3# fully adjustable in mine. It's amazing. Also, unlike the aforementioned Jard triggers you can use whatever safety you want. It was my first time installing a trigger and it went smoothly, just follow the directions. On the other hand it is a little time consuming to install and you have to loctite quite a few tiny screws. Most people like something a little bit different from each other but there are tons of great choices, what's perfect for one person is not quite perfect for another. You really won't go wrong with anything MarkCO recommended.
  23. Yes, likely to protect intellectual property. I saw it in other threads and it really is a great idea. If it makes it to production will likely be a true c-more killer for serious open competitors.
  24. Has anyone tried the new 4 port carver comp yet? If so what do you think of it? It seems that the 3 port was only designed with minor loads in mind and the 4 port is for Major.
