Try the 24C in your RR lower. As I said, I needed to remove .005" so the disconnector would release the hammer. Obviously not much so yours might just fit. Just ordered a 24c and had pla ned to install in a RR lower. Might have to use a different lower now. Thanks for the heads up.

I have the Troy on all my ARs, including a 308. Puts the mag release in about the same position on the left side as it is on the right, thus you can hit it with your trigger finger in the fashion as righties. The troy is all metal and has never given me a problem. If you also want to run a BAD lever, I've found that the Phase 5 Tactical has a low enough profile that it doesn't get in the way of your finger reaching for the Troy mag release. (The Magpul BAD stands out further and was a problem for me.

Found a 308 Bad lever at Phase 5 Tactical. Sent them an email asking if theirs would fit CMMG. Got a message back from Don who said he had called CMMG to confirm that it would fit. So I ordered Phase 5's: Extended Bolt Release v2/308 (EBRv2/308) for $49. Haven't received it but looks like it will work and I was impressed with the service.

just bought a CMMG 308 and would like to put a battery assist lever on it. Anyone know of one that will fit?

I have two 5.25 XDm's- one in 9mm and one in 40cal. I run the 9mm slide/barrel/spring on the 40 lower for 3 gun and have no problems at all. The 40 lower has a Powder River trigger, Pistol Gear magwell, and a Canyon Creek extended mag release. So I'm able to use the same customized lower for either caliber in Limited, or I can run the 9mm with the unmodified lower in Production. Works great. (Haven't yet tried the 40 slide with the 9mm lower however.) I use a Canyon Creek tungsten guiderod on both slides, except when running Production class. I can also run the 40 in Minor power factor using a 16lb spring. Both pistols will fit my bladetech holster, though I have to crank down the adjustment screws for the 9mm slide. RE: magazines- I have not tried running 9mm ammo out of 40cal mags. I'm using original mags for each pistol. I've got extended baseplates for each mag-- the Dillon 140mm baseplates for 9mm, and Taylor Freelance 140mm baseplates on the 40's. Both are using Grams springs & followers. The 9mm mags comfortably hold 23 rounds; the 40cal mags comfortably hold 19. (The 40cal mags are prone to FTF if I put 20 rounds in-- so I don't.) Bottom line, this has proven to be a very flexible combination for me for a manageable cost.

Regardless of the lame responses we might get from our representatives, we need to keep the pressure on. The accumulated mass of communications will be noticed and will help to buoy up those representatives that support firearm rights, and help tamp down the zeal of those who don't. Fight the fight.

What recommendations do you guys have for supplementing 3G training by using airsoft? Just can’t get to the range as often as desired, and would love to get some practice in the basement when I have a few minutes. What rifles are a good choice? What should I look out for?

Looking for suggestions on makes/ models of airsoft rifles that are good choices for 3G training for when I can't get to the range (which, unfortunately, is most of the time!) Need something that will hold up well and that has weight and handling similar to my AR. What's been working well for you?

This was the solution I came up with as well. Bought a 5.25 in 9mm first, then found a great deal on a xdm in 40. Both got great identical trigger replacements, one frame got a mag well and a Ti guide rod. Now I can switch back and forth between the two guns depending what I want to shoot (idpa, USPSA or 3G) and still stay within the rules and make major when needed. So are there no ejection problems when you put the 9mm upper on the 40cal lower? I worry that the 40cal ejector won't hit the 9mm brass properly...

Got my Bushnell 1-6.5 SFP a couple days ago. Will get range time this weekend, but just sighting on targets around the house I'm even happier with it than I expected. The glass is great, and its field of view is wider than I though it would be. I like the BTR2 reticle and the illumination is quite bright. I feel like I'm pointing faster than with my old scope, which I didn't expect either.

I've been using a box of these for several months- several thousand loads and they've held up well. I don't cycle them through the chamber, instead unloading them from the loading port on my FN.

I've had good luck buying minor reloads from Atlanta Arms & Ammo. I use a 16# spring on my 5.25XDm.

I put in the PRP ultimate kit. Took about an hour and came out very well. Be prepared to assemble/ disassemble repeatedly as you fine tune the action.

One note about the Nordic +1 extension-- Make sure that you use the Nordic follower with it. The stock FN follower can get stuck in the extension tube. I learned this the hard way during a match when I loaded a ninth shell during a stage, causing the stock follower to jam in the extension tube with the compressed spring behind it. I had to pull the tube off and pry the follower out to free it up- this after having to abandon the shotgun targets on the stage. Not a great s ore. I talked with Jeff Cockrum about it afterward and he matter of factly explained the need for the Nordic follower.Mine now has no problems.

I suspect the top shooters would still be the top shooters even if running no magnification. I, on the other hand, need all the help I can get.

Just ordered one from Grafs. Got the SFP with the BTR-2 reticle. I debated the two reticles after reading the threads here and looking closely at them, then made the choice based on three factors: 1. The BTR-2 has more stadia marks per foot of target than the BTR-1- so for whatever bullet weight and load I might test, I'll have more index points against which to gauge bullet drop. 2. The horizontal line and additional marks don't bother me- have that on my current scope too. 3. The turret adjustments are indexed in mils regardless of which reticle you choose- so my clicks should match the BTR-2 stadia, but would not match those of the BTR-1. Of course the choice really comes down to personal preferance, but does my rationale make sence to anyone but me? The scope is on backorder so it's not too late to change...

Any downside to the sealed piston? E.g.: increased recoil?
