i understand now what you mean travel thru vs. staying for week on vacation in chicago my 1st and easy reply would be do not stay at hotel in city of Chicago .... stay in suburbs west of Chicago , keep firearm unloaded and cased and locked in trunk of car while not in hotel .. i know this is easy to say but dont have good legal answer other than stay out of Chicago with handguns rest of Illinois is not a problem... possibly locate FFL to hold firearms for the week stay ?????

yes i have had TSA cut off my TSA approved locks and they leave a small slip of paper inside stating they removed locks for inspections both times i was traveling with out firearms , nothing missing but odd they had to cut them off when i asked TSA why they had to cut off and not unlock and relock i got the official " i dunno "

didnt shoot my best match but - - - hey i had fun a big thanx to all the hard working R.O.s and staff - GREAT MATCH as always! the WIIT always comes up with a gimmick stage , one of the best was few years back called Get Out Of Town were the R.O. drove a cart up range while the shooter sitting on back of cart facing down range , on signal the cart took off and the shooter had to engage targets past vision barriers while on the move that stage 2 with the close up poppers , swingers , and tip outs was good stage , many ways to shoot it im not mentioning whack a mole ,
