Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. do you have a link? I can only find the non adjustables, or the .750 ones
  2. where did you find the .625" adjustable gas block? thanks!
  3. anyone have an update on these now that they are in stores?
  4. Any luck from Remington? I sent mine back, the replaced the mag tube and barrel. Helped a little bit but I am still averaging about a 12"+ at 100yards. they said that since the barrels are back bored that they won't shoot slugs well
  5. I did that myself with a dremel tool. then used a file to even out the parallel sides. Step sand then polish. I did blue it after but have been using it so much I think I wore through it and needs re-blued. the ejection port side of the receiver Can be opened deeper if desired.
  6. THank you very much for the posts. I'll look into that carrier. The photo of the loading port is very helpful as I am about to open that up on mine. I am aware of course that a shell over the lifter is human error. Unfortunately, to err is human. So, if I were to err again, as I have been known to do, is there no other way to get the shell out besides disassembly of the gun? No Problem, If you need more pics of anything specifically just let me know. When you are opening up the Load port, you can go pretty deep on the ejection port side, but on the other you have to be really careful as that your shell catch is over there. I would either Remove the shell catch (small snap ring) or wedge something under it so that it is in the far up position and tape it off. I nicked mine with the grinder pretty good and I thought it would never stop a shell again. Just enough meat left on it to work thankfully. and opening it up forward, I went until I was basically grinding the back of the mag tube. You'll know you're there by the sparks lol
  7. As far as a shell getting on top of the lifter, I suffer from this as well occasionally, but unfortunately the cause of this is operator error, nothing with the gun. If I don't put the last shell in far enough untill it clicks past the shell catch, it will throw it on top of the lifter Every time. So what I did was open the loading port more forward exposing more of the follower and allow my thumb to push the shells in further without having to roll my thumb under and Into the feed tube.
  8. no need to shorten or lighten the easy loader, or lifter. That is not the problem. What is happening is the carrier latch at the back of the lifter tends to bounce back and out of position. They corrected this problem on the 11-87 and some magnum models. Brownells is where I got the part to fix it (767-268-750WB Carrier Assembly) It has an arm that holds the carrier latch back after the shell engages it after coming out of the tube and gives enough tension along the side to hold it forward and not allow it to travel back under recoil stopping it from locking open,
  9. I have extensively opened up the load port on my 1100 and a few other mods that have gotten it running like a top. I have yet to find ammo it does not like now, and it is not picky about running clean or dirty, even after 500-1k rounds between cleaning. (aside from a lil rust in the 1973 original blueing if I neglect it that long :S ) I have been running it in 3gun the last 2 years and have got it set up where I can effectively quad load it. Though if you do not seat that last round and it pops on top of the lifter, it is a bear to bring it back from paper-weight status. I will try to remember tomorrow afternoon to take some pictures and post it up here
  10. I have read around here that Clays can show some high pressure signs with the 147's have you had any issues? I have lots of it for the shotgun and has worked great in the .45 and 125gr 9mm Thanks
  11. Rem 1100. the dave's metal works lifter is forceing me to switch to dual or quad loading. but with a nordic +9 and a few updated and oversized parts I still dont have $500 into the $250 used gun. Rus near flawless and does everything I ask it to. Versamax will be next though
  12. Well, my gun safe is bolted down in a dark corner of my basement, the old dial type on a liberty so I came up with some cheap ways to make it a little nicer. Liberty sells a very nice but quite pricy light that goes over your dial or keypad to illuminate it so you can see that runs for about $15-$30. Well that is a box or two of ammo for me so for a while I would just hang a flashlight on the handle. Better cheaper way I found was I happened to have a coupon for a free flashlight from Harbor Freight and picked one up and found it has lights in the bottom and the front along with a magnet on the back. Threw it on the safe over the dial and bam, bush the button and illuminates the dial nicely and can also be used for a flashlight. http://www.harborfreight.com/27-led-portable-worklightflashlight-60566.html I also use velcro or thumb tacks to mount the puck lights that you puck lights that you push the front to turn on and those light up the inside quite well too. Anyone else have any cool hacks to make a shooting room and anything shooting related easier or cheaper? I know there are some good ones
  13. I will have to get the dimensions of the Daniel Defense gas block and that of the adjustable gas block that I plan to get in the future and see if they will work with those smaller diameter hand guards
  14. the barrel moveing rather than the rail actually does make a good deal more sense. Especially if it is on a rifle with a thinner barrel
  15. Hey Jesse, great to see ya chime in on this. Thank you! Actually your contributions in the 3gun world and from seeing you pop up everywhere from blogs and youtube, to podcasts and facebook are some of the main reasons I have been considering the Samson evo rail. I can't think of anyone else who may have more experience of running one through the ringer as my only experience with them has just been what I have handled on the Stag 3G and what I have read. Do you notice any substantial movement or flex in the rail as one of the previous responses mentioned? Would you go with the Keymod or MLOK over the standard evolution? The only things I plan on mounting on it for the time being is probably a sling mount, a bipod from time to time, a handstop of some sort/barricade brace(haven't decided on those yet), and maybe a ofset rail for a red dot down the line. And of course the ofset irons for now. Which by the way, I saw a while back a picture you had posted of a setup with Griffin armament Offset Sights. I really liked the looks or functionality of that, specifically the front sight and was going to see if just the front sight was availible because I like that full circle hood over it. Thank you again for all you do to support the growth of 3gun
