  1. I accidentally started 1 stage without my ears (had plugs) on a carbine stage. When that 1st shot broke off, I knew it was going to be a painful stage.
  2. Yup, you need to show more commitment on engaging targets. Snap that barrel into place and quicken those splits. Even at close range there seems to be some delay in acquiring your target and breaking off shots.

    ESP legal?

Yes, the Q5 is legal. I had the pleasure of shooting one last year at Nationals. As for the TP9 SFX, I haven't read up enough about it to know.
  4. Who's going and have you received your acceptance notice yet? My neighbor is opting to shoot over 2 days. Last year was a bit brutal having to shoot all day then make it to the awards ceremony. I squad Mom'd last year. Hoping to SO a stage this year and see some return shooters from last year.
  5. My Macon armory mag block is a secured with 1 screw up top and 2 set screws towards the bottom. It's pretty friggin stable.
  6. Running a Macon Armory mag block myself. Super simple setup and I like the included feed ramp that it has.
  7. Generally speaking, most PCC are blowback. The one I'm using is DI (like an AR). I wanted something different.
  8. I would recommend the Timney, but last night I started getting occasional doubles. This is on a DI PCC so not the same as a blowback. But I'm getting a Ti firing pin to see if that helps my problem.
  9. I picked up some speedcross 4 for $75 off of amazon last week.
  10. Nice find! I'll be taking advantage of that offer asap.
  11. Then bring your Edge to Nationals and let me know how that arguement goes for you. See you there.
  12. Necessary? No Some apply grease inside the buffer tube to help reduce/eliminate the sproing sound that is common among ARs. Other than that, nope. Just lube the BCG until it's dripping wet and run her like a dime store hooker. Hell, with enough lube you won't need to clean it for 1,000s of rounds. Not that I'd recommend that practice, but it is possible. Just makes clean up that much worse.
  13. So what you're saying is that when compared to a bushing barrel, you believe that the bushingless barrel of the Edge looks exactly the same as the other? Even Stevie Wonder could see that the Edge has a heavy barrel. Youre welcome to chop your Edge down to 4.25 or less though.
  14. I have no affiliation with this company, but it looks like a killer deal if you want to try out the 206. Crimson Trace CMR -206 In my basket, it came out to $109 to my door.
  15. Steel is definitely a good trade off. But that also depends on your neck of the woods. Some of the ranges where I live don't allow steel case ammo. Some take it a step further and have even banned FMJ. So while steel was a better value for me, my opportunity to shoot it was very limited. I ended up reloading and saving even more money in exchange for spending a LOT of time processing and loading soft point ammo.
  16. Make sure that whatever muffs you go with don't move or interfere with your rifle shooting. Meaning you're not having to shift your head to get normal sight alignment nor are they lifting when you get a good cheek weld. Defeats the purpose of doubling up if your muff lifts and negates any benefits.
  17. As a competitor, I would be planning my stages around a division capacity start. So if my mags are not co-operating, chances are my game plan isn't going to go accordingly. If I was limited to only 3 mags that day and couldn't be without the faulty mag, then I would use it for my reload or as my 3rd. As an SO, if I saw a competitor having a legit problem with their mags, I'd offer some advise that would enable them to stay within the rules while avoiding any accusations of wrong doing. It's easy to spot a competitor having legit troubles. In this case, if I were running Trace and he went to slide lock prematurely, it would probably result in Trace trying to still squeeze off a round not realizing he's gone to slide lock. His natural reaction would probably be to drop the mag and reload. The SK would probably see that the recently dropped mag had ammo still in it. If he tried to give him a PE for it, I would be there to argue that the competitor had a malfunction. I'm one of those weird people that likes to assume the best in others. If it was found that a competitor was doing something to gain an advantage, I'd probably consult with the MD and see if a PE or possibly an FP were in order.
  18. Sounds like the SIG marketing team has done a great job. They've created buzz and we've all taken the bait.
  19. ^^^ What he said. I just assembled an Ace shorty. Don't be shy on the soap. It's your friend.
  20. Checkout Jim's work for grip work. http://advancedperformanceshooting.com/enhanced-gripsstocks/
  21. Did you keep a wrapped mag in it while stippling it to prevent any warpage or shifts in the mag chute dimensions?
