  1. But we don't know when the dust will settle. Those that invested in a BUG gun are probably furious of the 3rd version of this insignificant division. It's a novelty division no one shoots except for special matches yet they're modifying requirements, again. Who knows how many refinements CCP will experience before they leave it alone.
  2. I'd hold off an any equipment purchases until the new rule book comes out. There may or may not be some changes. Either way, they will effect the choices.
  3. Who said anything about sandbagging? Unless we all have to reclassify, he could be good until his next sanctioned match.
  4. That's a valid point. So instead of being a paper master, earn it by beating your peers at a sanctioned match. I would find that more rewarding than hurdling the low bar.
  5. The classifiers and divisions are pretty much set in stone. Looks like they still have some work around PCC though as that division still lacks classifier times.
  6. Because Bill said so. He's not a fan of what he refers to as Speed Reloads.
  7. I'm not a fan of either restrictions, but with their revision of legal reloads, the 10 rounds mag thing isn't as annoying as the 10" barrel minimum.
  8. Rowdy is clearly a very good shooter that makes this look easier than it is. But I agree that this appears to be an easier classifier. But that also concerns me. I'm afraid we'll see a lot more people receiving paper rankings that will finish bottom of the heap come sanctioned match time. I wonder if we'll begin seeing an inflated number of MA shooters in the near future?
  9. Probably because in many states, there are mag capacity laws in place. Ironically, those same states are already trying to all but eradicate AR style rifles and high (standard) capacity handguns.
  10. Barrel length for CCP for increased but height was reduced. BUG-S had barrel, weight and OAL reduced. The optional cover call has been removed from T2 and up. Fault lines for Standards stages not scenerios? I may have misread that one. PCC division with a 10" barrel minimum. (Lame) I like the new and improved legal reloads. Overall, I'm pleased with the changes with the exception of BUG-S. It effectively removes any 1911. Unless you get creative with the dremel.

    ESP gun ?

Just remember that it comes with a 140mm mag. So you'll have to purchase a minimum of 3 126mm mags.
  12. WC had a booth set up at IDPA nationals this year. They had a bucket full of 9mm, a bunch of mags and my undivided attention. Both my friend and I ran the AR9. It was a LOT of fun to shoot. Very soft recoil and a modest amount of dot movement during burst firing. I shot it twice over the course of 3 days. 2 things that rubbed us wrong (not including price). Several premature bolt lock backs with ammo still in mag. Seemed to be related to a factory 10 round glock mag. Standard capacity mags ran fine. Second, the trigger. Neither of us cared for the 2 stage trigger. During burst fires it was possible to initiate trigger freeze quite easily. I prefer the feel of a single stage trigger. WC rep said it was in the works but that they used the 2 stage for reliability purposes. Seen 1 go for $1,600 on GB a few weeks back. At that price it would be very tempting. I'd have a hard time ponying up $2k for a rifle only to have to drop another couple hundred on a trigger.
  13. Taran's mentoring is quite evident in the action scenes. The wife and I will be marking this one for a date night.
  14. Like every other rifle, my MPX has the PA micro red dot. I haven't had any issues with the 3 moa Dot being washed out in sunlight.
  15. Keep it well oiled and don't clean it for at least the 1st 500 rounds. That's it really.
  16. I primarily run Clay Dot and 147gr pills. But for 124gr, Clay Dot isn't ideal, so I went with Prima V/SV. I found both to be exceptional powders. They measure great and burn clean. I like both better than n320 just for the simple fact that they didn't leave the mess on the press that n320 did, ymmv. Prima SV is similar to Clays (Aussie) as V is similar to TG. I currently have 4# of each. After I finish burning through the 16# of Clay Dot, I'll be switching to Prima V for 124gr and SV for 147gr. If you search this sub forum a bit, you'll come across a few threads with load data and other's experiences with these powders.
  17. Hopefully that is something that is removed from the new rule book. With all the different safeties available for 1911s, how is anyone suppose to enforce that? I get that the OP isn't modifying a 1911. I've spoken to my AC about having to shave down my ambi safeties to make width for my CCP. He didn't mention anything about it not being permitted. I also have attended 2 sanctioned matches with said gun. Nationals and another tier 4. I definitely would not knowing enter an illegal gun to compete with, so I will again clarify with my AC. If I need to run a single side safety, so be it. Because I don't think there's an ambi safety made that qualifies for CCP.
  18. Why do you recommend purchasing a safety but not filing one down? Unless I missed something, it's perfectly legal for him to file them down for CCP.
  19. That would depend on how many NTs were already in play.
  20. It's not that I hate ordering primers.... I just hate when I order the wrong ones! Rifle powder, check. Rifle brass, check, Rifle bullets, check Small Rifle Primers......
  21. Where's the LIKE button for that brass?
