  1. Inconsistency is normal across IDPA, we have similar problems to you in our area with our SOI, Gathers info for a class, then flakes when people show interest. Other SOI also claims to never have time, funny as to why he became an SOI and continues to be one, but never has time to do the job he said he could do.
  2. Utilize the walk-through period more and better. Use the full-time to develop, analyze and refine your plan. Once you get to position 1, you hit where you want to hit, so figure out the best route to get there, and where you want position 1 to be.
  3. Sorry haven't been on this site in a while. Yea I noticed some of the stages changed from how they posted. The V Drill ended up changing to Mozambique's. without going in to great detail there was a lot of questions asked from a few top shooters in my squad about cover on stages 1,3&4. All in all it was a good match. I ended up 10th in SSP/SS due to my brain not working with my trigger finger on the theater stage. That pretty much costed me a top 5. Oh well we all live, and learn. We had those same cover issues. It was mentioned to the MD on one of his passes, and his response was that is how the MD, AC, and Range Master decided it would be called. It was left at that, because arguing would have been futile. Decent match but the lack of movers made the stages look elementary.
  4. You are in the wrong section of the rule book, 3.5 is cover, you need to look in 3.6 Cover and Reloads, IMO the issue is moving toward the wall vs. "moving along a single contiguous piece of cover." My assumption is you were supposed to shoot around the left side of a wall, then move along the wall to the right side and the SO's interpretation of the rule was "toward" is not the same as "along".
  5. 3.6.4.3 When crossing an open area (as shown below between P7 and P8) the shooter may not reload until he/she reaches the next shooting position (the position from which he/she intends to engage the next target.) This should give you the exact answer to your reload question.
  6. Question 1- Yes, they are legal as long as they do not weigh more than 2 oz more than factory standard (8.2.3.2.2., 8.2.2.2.2) Question 2- No Idea For question as to fit and weight, the best people to call would be Extreme Shooters themselves, I am sure they have tested their products throughly. Chris
  7. If you ask the question "PE or FTDR?" It is a PE. For an FTDR it must be a "deliberate attempts."(5.5.) Can you as the SO make a 100% case to the MD, that his act was delibrate and not a shooter mistake. The SO must prove intent.
  8. I look in the rule book. Division Capacity is 10 for SSP. Rule 8.1.3.7 the shooter will also start with one round in the chamber. It does not say you have to top the mag off. For the new Bug class it 6 total, 5 plus 1 only to start. Would not the rules say 10 plus 1 for the others to start, if it was required. Mark It says it in more words. If you load 10, then chamber 1 at "load and make ready." At the start signal (buzzer), you will have 9 loaded in the magazine, 1 below division capacity. Violation of 8.1.2.1. The moment that buzzer goes off if loaded to division capacity there must be 10 rounds in the magazine.
  9. I just got done loading up 500 Zero’s, only because my local guy had them in stock, they load and shot equally well as MG.
  10. I use Titegroup and WSF, cheaper well performing powders. I'm also in high heat and humidity and they work fine. I used some N340 but did not see a noticeable reason to justify the increased cost and decreased availability.
  11. It seems most people are looking at this as how it affects me the shooter, but clubs are looking at it at how the actions within the range affect things outside the range. 99% of shooters follow the rules, but one new shooter on the 1st stage of the day does a reload and accidently sends a bullet out of the range and it hits something, then future matches and the club itself is in jeopardy. Stop thinking of yourselves and realize the rule is there to contain everyone’s bullets not just yours. Proactive measures need to be taken for safety. I have no problem with people not wanting to shoot at clubs that have these rules, because I am sure that is not the only thing they will be complaining about.

    Sig's and IDPA

Just a general wondering, why are Sig’s unpopular in IDPA? I never really see them around.
  13. Can I use the loading data from Hornady 155 XTP for Montana Gold 155 JHP? I was planning on using WSF between 6.2 and a max of 6.8. Taken from Hodgdon website
  14. So, I am having a lot of FTF with my xd40, and it seems like the magazine is not seating properly into the well, it is moving a little too much. When I have these FTFs a simple tap on the magazine bottom moves the bullet into the chamber. A temporary fix but would like some ideas on what the issue is? This is happening with 4 different magazines two 10rd that came with the gun and 2 aftermarket 12rd.
  15. Shooting an xd40, bullet pointing up
  16. Yesterday I tried out my new MG 155 jhp’s. Using 5.6 Titegroup, to 1.13 OAL, and had multiple FTF’s. FTF description: Bullet angled on feed ramp, slide partially back. I have never had this issue before using Hornady XTP 155, or 165 FMJ. I am loading the MG 155’s exactly as the Hornady 155’s. Any suggestions on where to narrow my search for the causing issue or issues? Is it the reloads or more possibly the gun? Thanks
  17. I swithced out to a set of Redding dies the same ones I use for .40 and all the issues went away. Thanks for all the imput.
  18. Yesterday I spent numerous hours trying to set up my LnL AP with new Hornady 3 die set 9mm dies. The problem I am having is that when the round is finished, and I push the cartridge between the bench and thumb I am getting significant push back. The bullet is moving back quite easily on some. I adjusted all the dies numerous times but cannot seem to figure this out. The resizing die appears to resizing it down. The expander die even with the lightest flare still does not do the trick, is it the seating/crimp die or an I completely off base? Any suggestions would be great.
  19. I am getting inconsistent bullet depths. I am trying to load to a max of 1.120, but keep getting between 1.115 and 1.125 so +/- .005, is that acceptable or is something going wrong? Thanks in advance.
  20. All thnak you very much, last night cleaned the whole thing again, used the baffle, and checked the setup. Got it working to +/- .1 grain, so all is good.
  21. Lot's of good ideas and suggestions, when i get home tonight gonna give the whole thing another cleaning and make sure all the right components are being used. Thanks.
  22. So my wife being the wonderful woman she is bought me a LNL AP press for Christmas, I set it up Christmas day and since have not been able to get it drop powder at a consistent weight. In ten drops it can range from 5.0 to 6.0 grains. I have been trying to get it to drop 5.5 grains. I have cleaned the inside and outside dispenser with one shot cleaner and dry lube, and rubbed it with a dryer sheet to remove the static but still is not dropping consistent weights. Any suggestions, Thanks.
