Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. the webbing of my hand has been taking a beating from the grip safety. I have a kimber custom II / 45 cal. would changing to a "Ed Brown" style grip safety help? or any other ideas wouls be much appreciated. thanks
  2. gotten a lot better lately, by shooting a shotgun just like a pistol, following the front site to the clay bird, then pulling away. alot more natural for a pistol shooter ( at least for me). it doesn't contradict a pistol at all. the other methods swing thru and sustained lead where giving me fits. now that i am decent with pull away i find that i will use the other methods as needed, mainly when i don't concentrate.
  3. Been shooting a pistol for a while and I am a follower of Brian's book. but going to skeet has been a un-nerving experience. Are there any books/vidioes out there on a Beyond Fundamentals level that really explains what's happening when you shoot a clay bird?? Is Brian going to write one.
  4. I have never been able to see the front sight's track, until yesterday . I have had a kimber in 9mm for a couple of months but only used as my "fun gun". saw that TGO recomends a 1911 in 9mm as the ideal training gun, i started to take it serously. and low and behold, it works!!! seeing the sight lift and calling shots is a breeze, as well as overall awareness as what's happening. in general swithcing between calibers is a great training aid.. great forum.
  5. If its supposed to mimick defensive shooting, Why should stages be "mag friendly" at all in IDPA??? Are the bad guys "mag friendly"??
