  1. I have the burris on my slide and I can't stand it. It's coming off and a c more is going on with a carver mount.

From my experience, the Fastfire would stop working within the first 1,500 rounds anyhow!

you are making a smart move

This was my experience exactly @ 1500 rounds. Burris stepped up with a replacement, the warranty had two days left...

  2. I started out with round nose bullets, but I couldn't hit the side of a barn.

I am now shooting 124gr HP and have seen great accuracy, but the bullets I am shooting are very expensive

124gr JHP from either Montana Gold or Precision Delta. 6.1gr Accurate #5 Good results with N320 as well

  3. I have been shooting this pistol for a couple of months now and am not happy with the accuracy (repeatablity). I know this is not the reloading forum but could someone give me a hint on oal and powder charge using pd 124 jhp for this particular pistol. I am getting a 2in group from a rest at 6 yds with a oal of 1.085 and 4.7 of wsf.

    Second question....

This is a pretty stiff load for minor, about 135 or so, and I wonder if going down to a 16lb recoil spring would help with the muzzle flip a little. I talked to the folks at Springer, where I bought the gun, and they basically said not to fool with the recoil spring if the gun was functioning ok.

I think your OAL is too short. I am loading 1.120. I shoot 5.7 grains of AA #5 for a PF of 132. I use a 16# recoil spring. Cycles fine.

I shoot the 124gr PD JHP under 6.0 of #5 with great results. Load them to 1.10" so they'll also chamber in my CZ. Have loaded over 5k this way, it's my goto load for the stock spring 5.25

  4. Hah, I went the other way, but I fire 124 JHP, not 147 FMJ. Have you tried MG's 124JHP? I find my MG loads much more accurate than the PD 124FMJ I was building before. Both with Win231, 4.4gr.

    YMMV...

My 5.25 loves the 124g JHP by PD as well. 6.0gr of Acc #5 is clean, reliable and accurate

  5. I tried loading some Missouri Bullets 9mm 147 gr. lead flat points in my XD 9mm Tactical. I loaded them with 3.8 gr. of Bullseye and an OAL of 1.1". They fead reliably and did not appear to be leading the barrel, but at 25 yards some of them were keyholing. What am I doing wrong?

My XDM 5.25 likes that Bullet with either 3.2 of Bullseye or 5.1 of Blue Dot but I use a COAL of 1.14" I don't shoot that distance, but no keyholing @ 15y

Maybe drop your charge a little and/or seat a little longer and see what happens

  6. Is there a good place that has outlined all of the info (requirements, process, time line, cost, etc) in obtaining an FFL?

    Thanks,

I am not affiliated with the website that I have recommended below, but know that once a small fee is paid, there is a TON of information on the site and it will walk you through all steps to obtain an FFL.

    ffl123

I used that site a few years back. Really helped simplify the process of obtaining a home based FFL. It was only $30 or so IIRC
