  1. Has anyone had their M&P 5" M2.0 slide milled for an optic? RMR, Vortex etc. I have the first version with the top loaded chamber indicator and was wondering what they do with that when they mill the slide. Also interested in other mods that can be done without breaking the bank.
  2. My 5 inch M 2.0 front sight appears to be .160" measured adjacent to the white dot (back of the sight).
  3. They may have raised the price some but not 15%. They were or are also offering free shipping along with the 15% off. I compared to Berry's and Ranier on Midway and both are more. I paid $39 for each of two boxes of 500 for 124gr 9mm and $55 for each of two boxes of 500 230gr 45ACP. So for $188 I got 1000 124gr 9mm and 1000 230gr 45ACP, not too bad.
  4. I think its funny when I try to load sp into lp cases I do it by hand and try three or four times before I figure it out. Don't like the other way around. I separate the brass and when I run out of lp casings I switch over to sp.
  5. Normally I clean out the range stall before I start shooting and only pick up the brass From what my friends and I shot. I don't know how I got so many of these.
  6. Think I'll load it and red marker it so I don't pick it back up. Others seem to feel the same way about it. Does it come as a loaded round or do you buy it to reload? I don't recall seeing this brand at any stores that I frequent.
  7. Anyone have experience with A-Merc stamped brass in 45 ACP? I must have picked up a bunch (50pcs or so) at the range at some point. I can tell immediately when priming that it is this A-Merc brass, it has very loose primer pockets... Not sure if I'm going to load or shoot it...
  8. I shoot my M&P 45 FS better than any other handgun I've ever shot. Its a one ragged hole in ten rounds gun. Unfortunately I don't shoot that well with every gun.
  9. Would have thought that the reamers would have been designed to bottom at the correct depth and bevel?? Guess not.
  10. That's what I was thinking, anyone else seen reamers cut in this much?
  11. I used my Lyman pocket reamer by hand and did not remove much material, also had issues with a half a dozen primers not fitting in the pocket. Yesterday I stuck the reamer in a drill and was shocked at how much material it removed a reamer is designed to run all the way in and the resulting bevele in the pocket is ok? Seems like it removed quite a bit of material.
  12. Thanks, actually there are 500 and they are only 250gr. Will be shooting them out of an Uberti EL Patron SAA clone so I won't be shooting them too fast. Not going to be happy if I have a leading issue though.
  13. I received 50 of these today and half the blue wax rings have broken up and fallen out, how big an issue is this or is it a total loss and I need to send them to you now for disposal.
  14. I'm right in there as well, 230 gr Extremes with 4.5-4.6gr of titegroup at 1.255".
  15. Loaded a few up but noticed that they were considerably shorter when I placed them in the plastic ammo boxes that I use. My Lee press may also not fully drop powder into them, if I'm not mistaken the cartridge pushes up on the powder measure and that contributes to getting the correct charge. Have to go home and double check that.
  16. Is this a true statement or not? The longer the COL the better as long as it doesn't engage the rifling when chambered and feeds properly(fits in the magazine). I recently heard of someone loading to 1.09" and thought "thats a little short" Looking at it from an accuracy standpoint.
  17. what plated bullet is that? and what velocity are you getting? I recently did some chrono work on 230gr Xtreme with Titegroup at 4.3gr and got 175PF out a 5" 1911. I'm going to get a chrono but don't have one yet. I've been using Powerbond 230grn RN and they have been very accurate but due to price and availability I'm going to be loading the 230grn Xtremes that I recently got. I hope they are as good as the 124grns are in my M&P 9C. Sorry for the lack of a chrono, I'm going to get one soon.
  18. Use 4.6 grns of Titegroup with 230 grn Plated and its very accurate out of my M&P.
  19. I've been using 4.6grns of TG at around 1.265 COL with Power Bond bullets(also a heavier plate) nice and accurate load out of my M&P45fs.
  20. Thats what I've been doing, Titegroup for both. Titegroup, as you know, is nearly impossible to find locally so I bought this figuring it would work in a pinch. Just trying to figure out if its better in the 9 or in the 45. Sounds like its better in the 9.
  21. I've got nearly 2 lbs of titegroup and 2 lbs of Autocomp, got the former because I could. I reload 230gr Extreme bullets for the M&P 45fs and 124gr Exremes for the M&P 9C, which calibre would be better with the Autocomp powder? Trying to decide what to reload with the new powder. I usually atempt to keep it near factory ammo as far as velocity and or recoil goes. Apreciate any recommendations.
  22. in my M&P 9C I've been using 4.2grns of Titegroup for my Powerbond 124gr rn and 4.6 for my 115gr rn both with a col that is a bit on the long side, not at home and don't remember the col exactly. Been using 4.6 in my M&P45fs with 230gr rn, also on the long side.
  23. Thanks for the replies, I was starting to think I was the only one who had branched out of autos. I had a guy at a gun store tell me I didn't need the groove but he didn't seem to think it was needed for a 454 or a 500 so I wasn't sure he was a reliable source. I was just wondering since 45 ACP and Colt have similar velocities. Thanks again.
  24. 1. Looking to reload 45 Colt but I'm not sure if the bore on my recently acquired Uberti El Patron is 451", 452" or 454", can anyone help? 2. Also going to be looking for a source for bullets, seems like most places I normally go to have very little 45 Colt. 3. Do the bullets need the groove around the bullet(not sure what that is called) to crimp into or could 230gr 45acp bullets be used (assuming the bore is .451") Thanks for the help
