  1. It shows up immediately after the match director (or his agent) posts it. I always post any Classifier to the IDPA site the same day.. AD
  2. I don't find that amount of PE's to be out of line with a normal Level 1 match. Just looked back at our last 4 matches and here's how it looked for "Shooters / PE's": 47 / 39 55 / 47 55 / 27 53 / 31 Considering most of those are probably from newer people shooting "out of sequence" or not using WHO/SHO or the always popular "leaving a position of cover with an empty gun", I'd say your numbers were pretty much average. AD
  3. Bill, Go to the match you are planning on signing up for. Look at the www.practiscore.com/xxx/-match/register link. Change the word "register" to "squadding". AD
  4. Thanks. I'll pass the info along. Good stuff to know and it'll help out a lot of other guys. AD
  5. Kam, I put in a lot of "practice" time on the program between Nooks, iPads and various smart phones. Fake matches, clones, squadding, etc. Once I was convinced I had it all down pretty well, we went "live" with online registration. That got messed up a bit, but at least I got the 28 guys who took the time to sign up to load right into the phone and then over to the Nook when I got to the range. MUCH nicer than putting in 28 guys one at a time. In our third week, it's gotten MUCH smoother and quicker for everyone involved. We're getting more and more shooters to use the online registration (it's free!) and it is making MY job a lot easier for sure. I am eagerly looking forward to the first night where all 52 shooters sign up prior to the match and all I have to do is: "Sync" "Get Match Registration" "Download" And DONE!!!! Good luck with it. It does get easier the more you work with it. AD
  6. Import Registration is for getting shooters from the Practiscore site who have registered for your match there. Once they register for a match, anytime you "Import Registration" you'll get all the new shooters since the last time you did that. When you have 30-50 shooters in a match, it sure is nice to just hit "Import" and it's done! AD
  7. With all the shooters and data on your iPad, go to the "sync" page on both the iPad and the Nook. On the Nook, you will see a list of ALL devices that have Practiscore installed and running that are on the current network (wifi hotspot in your case). When you see the iPad (the one with all the recently entered data) select THAT one while on the Nook. It will then PULL the information from the iPad (that's the one you selected on the Nook). It will then display any new changes that are different from the Nook you are bringing the information in to. Select "apply" as needed and you're done. You can practice a lot of this stuff with "fake" matches using two or three shooters. Once you see how it flows, it will make more sense. The program works well, it's just not all the intuitive at first. AD
  8. Really? At "arms length" distance to a target you have trouble determining if the shooter hit the center? So far it hasn't been a problem with us in the 4 years I've been doing this and we have a target in the stage like that almost every week. AD
  9. That worked for me. Glock 30. AD
  10. Have to agree. Back when I did use/carry the PPK/s a lot, it was very accurate. I just never liked shooting it all that much! I have run it in a BUG match but my hands were killing me at the end of the day. AD

    BUG guns

Glock 26 for BUG. It's also my backup carry gun. AD
  12. Rowdy, Hey, I could have used that last week, had I even thought of it. Thanks for the idea. AD
  13. Hmm, last night's match had the three CCP shooters beating 25 of the 32 shooters in SSP and 4 of the 5 CDP guys! Very cool. Of course those guys were shooting those G19s in SSP two weeks ago, so it's not surprising. So far only Glocks have been shooting in CCP in our neck of the woods. AD

    Dead Forum?

Perhaps all of the IDPA activity in the forum will increase AFTER the new rules are brought into the fray on March 1st. Our first match of the month will be March 2nd and it should be interesting to see how the changes affect the "regular" shooter. I'm not worried about the serious guys as they've already figured out how to play the game in advance. AD

    Dead Forum?

I would tend to think that it may be because "most" IDPA shooters are content to show up with their "general purpose" sidearm. Shoot it. Play by the simple rules. And go home. Not everyone gets involved in the minutea of how to dissect a stage or what to tweak on a special built gun for a local IDPA match. As the rules are basically simple for the "average" shooter, spending inordinate amounts of time pouring over the arguments of technical specialists gets boring fast. Every now and then a very good discussion gets done about a rule (or ruling) that does affect everyone, but for the most part, it's arguing for people who intend to go "all in" with their choice of division to cut up and how to best attack it. Those normal members who don't go to the forum are just as happy to shoot and shoot well with their normal sidearms. If you can remember how to reload, hit all the appropriate targets and not sweep the SO, you've got the entire rule book solved! Others see much more into it and those are the ones who show up in the forum to ask questions. AD
  16. We have 3 to 6 guys each week who fit into the "NFC" category and they get scored accordingly. Not a big deal. The major scoring programs handle it quite nicely. They do show up on the score sheet but under their own category (NFC) or whatever I decide to call it that week. AD
  17. Hmm, I must be living right. I've got all that and it's only 22 minutes away at my outdoor range. Life is good. AD Sent from the Glock Range Bag iPad using Tapatalk and a screwdriver
  18. I've often wondered that myself. AD Sent from the Glock Range Bag iPad using Tapatalk and a screwdriver
  19. Having an optic put on a "carry gun" and actually carrying it are two different things. I know several guys who have added an optic their gun, but I never actually see them carrying it. They do like to show it off at the house or the club though. Of course they rarely carried the gun when it was naked, so the addition of the optic is for "show and tell" for a lot of these guys. 21. Good one. Haven't heard that in a long time! AD
  22. Easy enough to do. Just tell him and if he doesn't get it, then go to your motorcycle saddlebag and SHOW him the rule in the rule book.Works for me. AD Sent from the Glock Range Bag iPad using Tapatalk and a screwdriver
