  1. No, not too lazy. But thanks for the insult. The first two models that came up in my search were ported.

Some people complain about the subjectivity of IDPA rules. Until they want to shoot with their special snowflake piece of equipment. Then it's "just a club match".

  2. Glad to hear you found a new passion GOF.

Anyone know how long ACs hold their position for? Our AC is also new for TX but our last one wasn't AC for very long.

There's no set "Term length" for an IDPA AC. I think your last AC was doing it for several years.

  3. Objectively, which one has the most rules/restrictions per round count?

The answer is obvious. You cannot have much fun with that many rules. Regardless how nice/friendly the shooters are, when it comes to competing it will quickly spiral into debates on rules because the smallest variation of COF or some creative move from a single shooter will be examined against vast book of rules to see if a PE or FTDR warranted.

Do you prefer living in an islamic nation or a free western one? I am sure there are plenty of nice and friendly people in any islamic nation.

Yes you can have fun. Because you choose not to, doesn't mean you can make a blanket statement stating that it's impossible for everyone. Ridiculous.

I can't even begin to explain how unbelievably stupid the statement in red is. I can't post what I think of that. But i guess idiots sitting behind their computers will always say stupid things.

  4. I happened to catch about the last hour and a half or so last night on HBO.

I pleasantly surprised, for some reason I had in my mind that the movie sucked, so I had no intention at all to waste my time on it. But now I want to go didn't it and watch the beginning also.

The gun handling was the best I have seen in a movie. Of course it was certainly Hollywood, but nice to see he actually tries to use good gun handling skills.

Pretty sure we can thank Taran Butler for that. Not sure about this movie, but I know Taran is training Keanu for John Wick 2. I wouldn't be surprised if he was involved in the original production as well.

    Check post #10.

  5. I have two frames and four slides and have swapped them in every possible combination without any problems. Even a FS frame works with a Compact slide.

Sent from my reloading bench using Tapatalk

Have you ever put a long slide on a compact frame?

When you do this combo, the dust cover portion of the frame won't come far enough forward to cover the bottom of the slide.

It may actually work, but would be a very bad idea.

  6. Because all you have to do is hand them their score sheet, there's their feedback. Wanting to see their scores alongside everyone else (who are IDPA legal) is motivation to use legal equipment. NFC is not "another division" for people to play in indefinitely. In fact, it's the MD's choice to allow it in the first place.

  7. can someone explain to me why people like IDPA so much that they continue to put up with this kind of stuff? Why not just shoot USPSA Production and call it good ...?

I dont like it...i shoot USPSA 90% of the time. Some of my friends like it, so when I go to a IDPA match with my friends it is frustrating to have to change my gear around and put on a tac life fishing vest.

If you don't like it, don't shoot it. Problem solved.

  8. In other words, it can be shot in SSP, ESP and CCP. I already know guys who have shot the VP9 in a Classifier. One pass gets all 3 Classifications.

  9. Wow, what an awesome response @AustinWolv! Thank you! I've only posted here a few times and you certainly have giving me more info than I could have asked for.

One more question since you clearly know your stuff. I had the Bladetech mag holders and I'm having trouble with my M&P magazines. If I tighten them and if there is any angle to my pull at all, I can't get the mag out. If I loosen them, they have been falling out on stages (cost me 20 seconds at regionals this weekend).

I'm getting the same thing with my Blade-Tech double mag pouch for the M&P. If you pull perfectly straight up, they come out fine. If you put any outwrd pressure on the mag, they stick like glue. Still haven't figured that one out yet.

  10. Russian priest-"Do you know who you're f***king with?"

    John Wick-"Yes, yes I do."

    I loved it!!!!!!

and +1million on "Way of the Gun", if only for the parking lot scene outside the club. Outstanding. Sarah Silverman shoulda got an oscar :)

Seeeing her get punched in the face was a high point of the movie. That, and the one-handed chamber check.

  11. Once again, are you guys checking the striker block leg on the striker to verify that its not a timing issue? If the leading edge of the striker block leg is beat up or rolled over, then you have a timing issue and the striker is smacking into the striker block before it can hit the primer. This takes a crap ton of energy out of the strikers forward velocity, thus light strikes.

Any time you start jacking around with the trigger bar loop, or swap to after market triggers or sears, the timing of when the striker block gets pushed up gets jacked up. If you don't verify that the striker block is being pushed up and out of the way before the striker comes forward, then YOU WILL have light strike problems.

If the striker vs striker block timing is setup correctly you should be able to shoot CCI primers + the APEX competition striker spring with ZERO light strikes.Or you can not fix the timing and keep putting stiffer and stiffer striker springs in there to try and overcome the timing issue using a brute force method.

One of these methods of solving the issue leads to an actual solution, the other only leads to a delayed failure mode. Decide wisely.

O.K. Then the question would be: What's your preferred method of solving the timing issue?

Fix the timing issue. You can change the angle of the loop on the trigger bar or change the height of the striker block leg on the striker. If this does not make sense then get it to a gunsmith to fix it for you.

I know how I would fix it. I was just asking how you would.
