  1. On the Apex website, they specifically list all their barrels as compatible with the 2.0. https://store.apextactical.com/WebDirect/Products/Category?categoryId=71

It's looking like S&W didn't change the external dimensions of their sear housing block enough to interfere with the usual way of dealing with the thumb safety. You remove the TS, detent and spring, then put the frame plugs in. Done. https://store.apextactical.com/WebDirect/Products/Category?categoryId=71

I haven't actually done this myself with one of the 2.0's, so I may be wrong. But S&W has been using this method for quite a while now, in order for all versions of M&P to "optionally" have a TS. All new frames have had the cutouts for the TS for several months, even it they aren't a TS model.

no idea, but that's exactly why I have concluded I'm better writing checks than handling a file!  I have never accidentally written too much on a check!

I had a friend who tried working on his pistol...filing the sear and a few other things....and it went full auto on him.  He's just writing checks now, too...

There's absolutely nothing wrong with you and your friend going that route. Not every race car driver needs to know how to rebuild an engine.

I've shot two monthly matches in the last two weeks. Neither club used the new rules.  They're still holding on for hope that fault lines are gonna go away.

If they don't use them next match, I'll quit shooting there.

they keep saying "until I have a hard copy of the rules in my hand, were not using fault lines".

They need to read the hard copy of the rulebook they already have. It states that the rulebook posted on IDPA.COM is the most current, and is the one to be used.

My first match in IDPA is coming up in a few weeks so new to this, thanks for the help, so if I went flat trigger upgrade then I would be in ESP?  Btw, Sig P320 full size 40s&w ...

    Yep, ESP.

I watched it the other day... It was okay. But what I really enjoyed... In the credits, for weapons consultant, was listed Thell Reed. Link at the bottom for him for you youngsters. :)

Thell has been working on movies for a while. I met him while working on 3:10 To Yuma as a medic. It was kind of sad, I was the only guy there who knew who he was. People figured it out, but they had to google him. I'd try and make excuses to hang around with him at the end of the day.

"in the open" is kind of hard to determine, even reading the rule book.  the only time you will see it will be a retreat to cover from a start in the open and if you are given 2 targets then you will need to round dump, if it's 3 targets, the, 1,1,2,1,1, reload before you get to next postion.   if you are going to round dump in the old rule book, then you shot  3 in each target and made sure that one shot was a -1 so it didn't look like round dumping.  In the new rule book, I think that round dumping is allowed.

You're at least two rule books behind. Nobody would ever call round dumping for extra shots on the move before, and "round dumping" has been gone for a while. There is also no more tac-sequence in the new rulebook.

OP, please share your idpa member number.

You mean the OP that started the thread, asked for comments, then when people don't agree with him he resorts to foul language? Yeah.... that one.

    Not unfair or unsafe.

  8. Hard telling... I'll be interested to find out.

I'm curious about the new "full length internal chassis". Since the cutouts in the frame allow seeing the QR/serial number, is the chassis removable/swappable like the SIG 320?

Inconsistency is normal across IDPA,  we have similar problems to you in our area with our SOI,  Gathers info for a class, then flakes when people show interest.  Other SOI also claims to never have time, funny as to why he became an SOI and continues to be one, but never has time to do the job he said he could do.

Have you reached out to your Area Coordinator?

  10. This is crazy, I assumed the majority would recommend Surefire. Hare's another vote for the Streamlight TLR-1 HL. I've been using them for years, and they have held up well. The only issue is mounting them on your pistol. Make sure to get it on there correctly and cinch it down. I've seen a couple TLR-1's come off during training, but it always turned out to be operator error. Great lights.

They already exist (USPSA / Steels / probably bullseye and icore and etc. ), if you are really into the sports and want to attend higher level matches then you will pay fees though.

I do not mind paying USPSA & IDPA dues because I feel like I get enough out of the higher level matches & etc. to justify my costs. For casual shooters I think asking for annual dues is just greedy, and I see a lot more bang for my buck with USPSA (which requires no fees for casual shooters) than with IDPA.

The part bolded above is incorrect. IDPA makes it's money strictly from membership dues. No match fees go to IDPA. While USPSA doesn't require membership to participate in a match, part of every match fee goes to USPSA. So it's not "greedy", it's how the organization makes it's money. The two sports make their money differently.

For those of us showing up without a 4 man team, will there be an opportunity to pull together a scratch team prior to the team shoot on the last day?  Aside from the guy I'm riding with, not sure who all else is shooting this match so kind of hard to form a team when we're the only two from our local group coming to play.  I'd hate to miss out on the extra team shooting.

See everyone in a few days!

You might want to do, what I did above.
