Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Stay with the Ruger until it is time to move up to center fire. I have 2 Ruger Mark IIs and a Marvel conversion for bullseye, my best targets have been with the Ruger. The Marvel conversion did help me with my 45 shooting.
  2. I have the Comp-Tac International holster, and in doing dry firing draws I find that I have to jerk my shoulder up fast for the gun to clear the holster which aggravates my shoulder. Is there a way to drop this holster 2 inches and still keep the it close to my body?
  3. I, and a bunch of bullseye shooters use them, and they are very accurate at 25 and 50 yds.
  4. I am confused as to what my sight picture should be, I first started competition shooting in the Army with an MI Garand, was taught to use 6:00 hold, Years later I entered Bullseye pistol, used irons and had to use a deep sub-6 hold, couldn't use 6:00 or center hold because of eyes.Used center hold when using red dot, fine. I have now added action pistol and am using mostly Glocks G23 and G20. I am not on target with the G23, I added Dawson red fiber-optic and fixed rear in my G23. It is shooting way low when using a sharp 6:00 hold, looking at top of front sight, My G20 shoots center target with 6:00 hold, about 3" high from POA. Where am I supposed to aim, sight picture and what part of sight on the fiber-optic, look at dot or top of front sight blade? I plan on shooting plates a lot, I don't move fast or well, age and injuries Both of the above guns are my carry guns also. Jim
  5. Looking for carry and competition holsters for a Glock 20 and 23. I have the higher front sights (Dawson) on my 23 and they fit well into my Crossbreed IWB but not my OWB leather holster. I have stock sights on my G20, but will change them soon so the front sight height may be an issue there also. I will most likely be shooting production, so a holster that would do both CCW and competition is what I am looking for. Jim
  6. Right, I have a Crossbreed IWB and a Cobra Gun skin OWB for CC, and I really like them both. Now I need a competition holsters for both guns, any suggestions? I also ordered a set of Dawson competition sights for the 23, Once I get the 23 dialed in and shooting accurately for SD and some competition, thinking GSSF among others, I will start on the G20. The G20 really intrigues me, so much fire power in a concealed holster and so many other options. Up date on the G20 project: I will buy the KKM 40 conversion barrel and shoot lead. Now as for holsters for the G20, I would like an OWB carry holster and another for competition, What are my choices for one holster to do both,? Or what are two that will work well? I also need an OWB holster for my G23, I installed Dawson competition sights on the G23 and now there is not enough clearance for the front sight. I would like this to do double duty also. Will this one work? http://shop.blade-tech.com/revolution-glock-2021-p-370.html. Thanks Jim

  8. S.W. Mich. most of the shootings have been by gangs in town, the woman jogger killed was in the countryside outside of the "bad" area.
  9. I am a bullseye shooter with high end guns for this sport, a 1911, Beretta M9 and a marvel conversion on another 1911 for .22 portion of the 2700 matches. I shoot a lot and I am good with these guns. I have a G 23 for carry and I really like it, but the sights seem to be off, a little high and to the left at 25 yds. I thought this might be me not being used to the Glock, trigger and not shooting it much. I had planed on getting into action shooting soon and would be using my G 23. However; we have had drive-by shootings in our rural area, downright murders of people minding their own business but being available targets. A few days ago a woman jogger was shot in the head from behind. So I decided I need more fire power in case I needed to engage someone shooting at me from within a vehicle. The 10mm,Glock 20 sf was the logical choice, good carry gun and also longer sight radius than my G 23 for competition . I took the G 20 to the range for function test with SD ammo and darned if it didn't shoot like a dream, right on target and recoil didn't seem that much at all. Shot much better than the G 23, which makes me believe I need to move the rear sight a little on the G 23 or get better sights. I want to become very good with the 10mm because this will now be my carry gun most of the time (both of my G23 SD holsters, IWB and OWB, work with the G 20). Now what sport or classes can I best compete in with the 10mm Glock 20? I want to shoot production as much as possible. thanks, Jim

  11. The Hodgdon site says with WSF to use 7.1 to 8.0 grs, how low can I go on this? I am not looking for great accuracy on this mostly 50 ft or less. I only have 500 of these 135 JFP. and want to use them up this winter. Thanks Jim
  12. I am new to action shooting, but have been shooting bullseye for 5 years. I plan on training this winter indoors with lots of dry firing and other drills along with some indoor shooting. How do I time my draw, and other aspects of dry fire training? Jim
