  1. Try a Don Hume JIT slide, they make one for a speed six which should fit your gun, IDPA legal I think
  2. I had one as well, an all black model which I prefer, and I had no problems with it except for the lack of lower powered recoil springs so my reloads did not always work. I also went back to Glock for the reasosn stated above, but I really liked the SR 9, best semi auto designed by Ruger yet. I see Dave Spaulding is using one on some of the shooting shows.
  3. Looks like the Canadian special edition. I can't keep up with all the variations of Shadows, Shadow Lines, etc.

    CZ 75 CZ85

And 85 Combat has not got the firng pin block. My favourite CZ by far
  5. I have used a THE extended length tungsten guide rod for years with no problems in my 35.

    cz-85 competition

I have used an 85 C with the CZ competion sights, thin aluminum grips, and 13 lb mainspring/11lb. recoil spring for years. I have used it in both IPSC Production and IDPA in SSP and ESP. I have tried the Shadow twice now and keep coming back to the 85 C. The Shadow feels sluggish to me in transitions. Also, I went back to a plain black front sight, as the FO front sights did not work for my aging eyes.
  7. Have you tried a CZ 85 Combat? I really like mine, use it in SSP and ESP and occasionally in IPSC Production.
  8. Has CZ changed the finish on Shadows? I bought a used 2010 Shadow and it has a matte finish while my older CZ 85 and SP01 have the polycoat finish. Did I miss something?
  9. Hello All As the title asks, will a CZ Shadow rear sight fit on CZ 75 SA? If yes, what would the proper height of front sight be, 5.5, 6.5 or 7.5? Thanks in advance!

    SR9 accuracy?

I had the latest version with the new trigger and I liked it a lot. It ran flawlessly and the accuracy was better than my Glock 17 off the bench at 15 yards even with the much worse stock Ruger sights, as my Glock has Warren Sevigny sights. I also liked the trigger better on the Ruger. However, the lack of aftermarket parts and the shorter barrel caused me to sell it as I am primarily a competitive shooter. But I think it would make a nice CCW gun.

    Feeding issues

    Nice tutorial on extractor replacement!
  12. I agree. Had more problems with the Lone Wolf than KKM for sure. I would stick to KKM or definitely get the Lone Wolf opened up.

    85 combat or 75b?

I would take the 85 C over the 75 B. The 85 won't have the firing pin block the 75 will. Better actual trigger on the 85 C as well. Better sights on the 85 also, but I would change those out anyway.
  14. Hi Eugene

Have you got any Shadow safeties kicking around? Looks like GunNthings is out of business.

    Thanks

    Bill

  15. Just wondering if safeties form the Shadow will fit on the SP 01. If so, how hard are the to install? Thanks all.
  16. I thought the SP 01 did not have the firing pin block since it doesn't have B on the slide.
  17. great to see all the cool CZ toys but Nutnfancy is lucky he did not get a bunch of fives from Angus. A couple of his comments were way out of line.
  18. I am not a big fan of the little double stack Glocks, but I sure like the Glock 36. Its the only slim Glock in the smaller package. I wish Glock would also make a single stack like the 36 but in 9mm. If I could have concealed carry (not allowed where I come from), it would be the Glock 36. I shoot it at every BUG IDPA match I get a chance to.
  19. How is the reliability of your LDA? My buddy was hot to trot to shoot them in IDPA SSP but both of his suffered from a series on technical problems so he got frustrated and go rid of them. I have had a Para 16.40 LTD and I also had a few problems so I dumped mine too.
  20. I also had a Shadow and a 85 Combat and sold the Shadow for 2 reasons, it was a little front heavy and I thought my target transitions were slower, and my 85 Combat was 100% reliable while the Shadow did give me the occasional stoppage which I never diagnosed the cause of. I also must say the Shadow is a lot to carry of weight on your belt while the Combat is noticeably lighter to carry around all day. I have enough trouble keeping my pants up!
  21. I have to say I get better overall scores with the steel framed gun than the polymer guns. I find the lighter guns too easy to push off the target, I guess the heavier gun is steadier for me. Trigger advantage should be to the Glock for lighter first shot but I still shoot the CZ better overall even though I have to be careful with that first DA shot, after that its all the same or easier with the CZ. I also find the reloads faster on the CZ as I think the angle and the material of the Glock mags make the changes a bit slower for me. The CZ wit its metal mags and grip angle are much faster for me but YMMV.
  22. I am using a serrated front black sight that I got from the previous owner of my CZ 85 C and it is about .100" wide and I am not sure how tall it is. I think it is a CZ product and the rear sight is the CZ Competition one. I am older with not the best sight and have used FO front sights for a while on my Glocks and an M&P Pro also had the big green FO front sight, but I find the precision of the plain black front sight quite good even if it slows me down a tad. I shoot better groups but a bit slower. I may get a Dawson FO front sight just to see what difference it makes.
  23. I have used the Frontier 147 FP bullets in my Glocks and CZ's without any accuracy or functioning issues. Recently, I switched to Berry's as the price was better from a local supplier than what I was paying for the Frontiers and having to pay shipping.
  24. I asked this same question some months ago and there was nothing available then but one of the members here was building up the stock one with extra material. I also wonder what the FBI mag release looks like that I have read about (but never seen) on other forums.

    Made the switch

I hover back and forth between the CZ and the Glock but mostly been using the CZ (85 Combat) for the last 2 years. I find reloads faster and easier than the Glock both in terms of angle and finish of the mag which is smooth on the CZ compared to the Glock. After you get used to that DA first shot, you give little up in trigger IMHO. Guns are about equal for accuracy off the bench with maybe a slight edge to the CZ. I find I shoot the CZ better under stress (like a match) which I attribute to the heavier weight of the gun over the Glock. In term of reliability, I put the Glock slightly ahead but my 85 Combat has been extremely reliable. I have had other CZ's which have given me some problems but the current one is very good.
