Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm shooting a stock 3, I've had it for a couple or three months. The locals are all big fans of the CZ shadow sp01, CZUB version, not the US Custom Shop shadow. I could never tell if they are the same gun or not. Anyways, the reason I point this out is a number have gone down the path of the tanfoglio stock 3 now for production. Before I purchased it, due to the nature of the way licence approvals work in Australia, I had plenty of time to shoot club guns, and those owned by the various generous club members where I shoot. This let me fire lots and lots of different brands and models, (all ipsc production) and in the end it came down to a X5-all round, the shadow and the stock 3. I eliminated the x5 because of the ridiculous premium we pay for them in Australia, and in the end the stock 3 worked better for me than the shadow. Main differences: price- no difference at all. Percieved recoil- stock 3 was a big winner here. Stock 3 feels more front heavy, and so less flip. What I really learnt during my elimination process was how subjective a lot of things are, and how some guns that others LOVED just didn't suit my hand/me. I love my stock 3, others don't. Others do. The stock 3 works for me, try before you buy, cause your opinion is the only test that counts. (unless you have your heart set on a particular gun, then just buy it, life is short
  2. Hi from Australia guys. 1 gallon = 3.7854118 litres Last purchase A$1.61 per litre or approximately A$6.09 per gallon, USD is around 1:1 at the moment We have our own freaking gas reserves. We get taxed on it, the we pay anoter 10% tax on that as a consumption tax, that's right, a tax on a tax All politicians are Bastards I guess it is all about what you are use to....
  3. At our Club in Australia, IPSC, the first time shooters are all told to introduce themselves to the RO at each stage and mention that this is their first event. Makes for a good result all around. I know I felt a little more relaxed knowing that the RO understood my jumpiness was nerves and not my natural state.
  4. Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll get to know you all over time, this site has already proved to be a pleasant and useful diversion Cheers
  5. Thanks to both of you for your quick replies. Jim first, very generous and much appreciated, I will be around on the 2nd Sunday, I have no idea yet if I will be able to take advantage of your offer, but if it looks like I can I will let you know with a PM with plenty of advanced notice. If not, that is still a very kind offer to make to a stranger and I appreciate more than you know. Just shows further that this was the right forum to join. Either way, if you are ever in Australia, send me a note and I will buy you are beer if you are within driving distance. Raz-0, thank you too, good info I will go and chase them up as you suggest, take care out there both of you Cheers
  6. G'day all, Found this site by searching for Tanfoglio Stock 3, some interesting comments on them here. Stayed to look around and now a signed up member. This is far and away the best IPSC resource (I know it is more) that I have found, and I will being sharing it with other IPSC shooters over here asap. (probably only the ones I like, don't want the other learning too much :-) ) Anyway, love seeing so many active members and paricipants in a sport I love, happy and safe shooting to all Cheers
  7. Dear all, I'm visiting Hackensack NJ from Australia for a week or so, and I was wondering if there is anywhere to go and have a shot with a range pistol or other as I will not be transporting a gun with me. In fact I am looking for suggestions where to pick up some gear, (range bag/timer) etc as they are sooooooo over priced by the time they hit Australia. Appreciate any help, and yes this is my first post, sorry if that seems a bit take and no give, but such is life sometimes Cheers
