  1. I can say that I've used mine with a stock polymer STI grip and with a PT EVO grip. Unless there's some extreme difference between those and the CK grip (not sure what they use), you should be fine.
  2. Shot CO for about 6 months. Had a rotation of 3 DPPs. There were two times during those six months that 2 of those optics were at the factory getting electronics replaced. One of them went out on me within the first 500 rounds. Twice, the automatic off feature stopped working. No big deal, other than the fact that the optic would automatically turn off after 10 minutes, regardless of what I was doing with the gun. So it could shut down during dry fire. During practice. Or during a stage run. To Leupold's credit, they were quick to get them back to me - particularly when I would mention that they had two of my three units. The only mildly annoying thing was the last time I called with a problem - the tech guy expressed shock that I would be having any issues. He wanted it sent straight to him. So, I guess he was the one who got to replace the circuitry on that unit. Now, I'm waiting for an SRO from Trijicon. Hoping for a better experience. But I'm not terribly optimistic.
  3. A shooter at our match today had one of these. Bunch of us put some rounds through it after the match. I've always loved the CZ platform for production and CO. And I still do. But this was pretty nice. It's the first of these striker-fired guns that has given me any reason to even consider a switch. Of course, this was just based on a couple mags. But it did make strong impression.
  4. I had a set of Shadow 2s the last time I shot CO. One milled by Cajun, the other by CZ Custom. Both did great work. Cajun was faster, however. So I would give them the tiebreaker.
  5. Decided to just go ahead and have my Bull Shadow milled for my SRO. It will end up being a few ounces lighter than an S2, but I won't have to be careful about which grips I pick, etc.
  6. Used to be a big fan of Bladetech. But after buying my first Red Hill Tactical holster, that's all I would use for Production, Carry Optics or Single Stack. Very solid product. I haven't shot a lot of limited, but for that I've loved the race holster by Everglades. It was formerly sold as the Manny Bragg Futuristic Magnetic Race Holster. Such a smooth draw.
  7. Thanks for the info. I love everything about this timer - other than the belt-clip options that come with it. I've wondered why AMG didn't design something like this.

    CZ Tuning

You can definitely make improvements to your stock Shadow 2 with a bit of tuning - particularly polishing of the trigger bar, etc. I've had several of them and with less than an hour's worth of work, you can smooth them out quite a bit. Whether or not you need to do that is another matter. Coming from a Glock, you'll probably be pretty happy with the stock Shadow 2. Some shooters become obsessed with making their triggers as smooth as possible. But at some point, you start to get diminishing returns. In the end, your own grip fundamentals will matter more than all of that internal polishing.
  9. Hard to go wrong with these - particularly considering the price.
  10. Thanks for the head up. Order placed.
  11. Same here. I got one for a 2011 - with the PT grip. Such a smooth draw.
  12. I've had an order in for about a month. Was told they are expecting to get them in sometime later this month.
  13. As far as matches, you have a couple nice options about an hour from there. Best bet would be Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club. They have a USPSA match there three weekends of the month. Tons of other matches, including action steel every Wednesday and a USPSA-style match every Thursday. Even on the weekend days without a USPSA match, there's usually something happening in the form of steel/outlaw paper matches. Most of them are run by Manny Bragg and Gorka Ibanez. You can get a schedule on their Facebook page - Extreme GM. Port Malabar also has a nice USPSA match - on the second Sunday of the month.
  14. Reminds me of my issues with DPPs. I only shot CO for about 6 months. Had 3 DPPs - but that wasn't enough. Twice, they had two of my units in for repairs at the same time. To their credit, when I mentioned that to their customer service folks - they would put a rush on one of them to make sure it got back to me within a few days so that I could have a backup on hand. Still, that whole mess was one of the reasons I got out of CO. But now, here I am planning to give it another run with SROs. Probably silly to hope for a better experience in terms of reliability. But that's what I'm doing.
  15. Just got a promotional email from GR today, promoting a range of their products - mag pouches, holsters, belt and even their own line of shorts. So maybe they aren't going out of business. I have, in the past, ordered directly from the company - to get several of their narrower mag pouch mounting plates. Great for Single Stack or Production, as they let you push the mags closer together. Shipping costs were a little annoying, but the service was pretty quick.
  16. Ran into the same thing GR a couple months back. Couldn't find black pouches anywhere. Had to choose a different color. Such great mag pouches - I hope they aren't going out of business. Looks like the Black Scorpions have undergone a redesign to fix the one issue some shooters had with them. With the the old design, it was hard to lock the pouches into a fixed position. They were still pretty nice. If I didn't have a set of GRs, I'd be looking at the newer Black Scorpions.
  17. Right. I got the one with the short dust cover. But thanks for the heads-up. That would have been an expensive CO mistake.
  18. Has anyone mounted an SRO on a Shadow II yet for CO? Looks like the SRO weighs a little less than a DPP (1.6 oz vs. 1.9 oz). Just wondering how much weight reduction has to happen to keep the S2 legal with the SRO. I'm about to work on a new CO setup with the SRO. At this time, I'm planning to use a Bull Shadow - just to avoid having to have the frame cut to make weight as was required with the DPP.
  19. I use six pouches with my minor setup. I can't ever remember needing the sixth mag. Even the fifth is a rarity - though as mentioned, the unloaded starts can makes things a bit more tight. I like the idea of being able to engage one or two targets and do a reload - without having to worry about how that's going to affect my stage plan. It's also nice to have backup ammo - just in case you lose a loaded mag while running around on a stage. Crazy stuff can happen out there. Spending a few dollars on one more pouch than you think you'll need is pretty cheap insurance.
  20. Great to hear about the early results. Looking forward to getting back into CO, once I get my hands on one of these. Loved my DPPs, but I just couldn't get the reliability out of them that I wanted.
  21. I put in an order from a site showing the 5MOA in stock. Then they sent an email saying they don't actually expect to have them until later this month. The price was good, so I left the order in place.
  22. So many good options out there. I do love the PM9. I've had 3. Sold the first two, but then recently replaced one of them so that I could shoot single stack minor. I don't see how you could do better without spending a heck of a lot more money.
  23. Hard to go wrong with the Red Hill holster and Boss Hangar (or a similar holder). I'd also look at adding 6 mag pouches. You might get by with 5 (though unloaded starts could be rough), but obviously there are few things worse than running out of ammo on a challenging stage that requires a lot of reloads. You really don't want to have to plan reloads based on the number of mags you have on your belt.
  24. Recently got back into SS after taking a break from the division for a while. Picked up a DW PM9. The thing is just fantastic. A little pricier than the first two that I originally owned. But I don't think you can do better - without going the much pricier custom gun route. (And of course, there are other decent options out there in the same class of gun.) But I'll offer this bit of customer service experience from about 3 years ago: I'd picked up a PM9. It had issues reliably feeding my reloads, which were a little long. I called DW and mentioned the problem. Surprisingly, I didn't get the speech you hear from a lot of these companies, about how you should only use factory ammo in their guns. Instead, they asked me to send a dummy round and the gun back to them. They paid the shipping to and from the factory and took care of the problem. Didn't cost me a thing, other than being without my gun for about a week. I have no idea if they still operate that way. But that kind of service is tough to beat.
  25. I've had mixed results with Deltapoints. I love the company's customer service. Typically, it takes a few weeks to get one repaired if you go through the easy website return process. Unfortunately, I've had to take advantage of that with all four of the DPPs that I've owned. I have three now, with the idea that I'll have a spare when one of the others needs to go in for a repair. Earlier this month, I had two down at the same time. I called the company and told them I had a state match coming up shortly - so they expedited both repairs, getting them back to me in time for the match. But now I have to send the third one in for repair - after it started acting up during a practice session today. Great optic. And great warranty service. Just wish I didn't have to use it so much.
