  1. I've had great work done by both CZ Custom and Cajun Gunworks. You can't go wrong with either.
  2. So tempted to get one of these. But I think that's just because I'm always tempted by the latest toys. I think I'm going to wait a while to see what bugs pop up - and what solutions you guys come up with to solve those bugs. I know the 650 well enough at this point, that there are don't seem to be any surprises left. I'm sure this will be a great press in the end.
  3. As you clearly know, the best thing you can do is practice those reloads. On some stages, it's going to be an easy way to shave a couple seconds off your time. But having the magwell is just going to make it even that much easier to accomplish your goal.
  4. Only you can decide if the extra expense is worth it. But at least in my experience, magwells are a big help. It's just a bigger target to aim for when you are doing that reload.
  5. Some awesome looking guns in there.
  6. Definitely look at Lok Grips. Love the palm swell versions. I know they have worked with some local shooters to make some that are thicker than their regular models.
  7. I've been wearing multi-focal contacts, which have helped a lot. But over time, the correction from those started to fail as well - for iron sights. Added a modified reader RX to my Oakley glasses. Took the gun in to my optometrist's office - and she did measurements to make the glasses work. Something about reading glasses being optimized for reading distance (18" or so), while the front sight of the gun is a little further than that. That helped a lot.
  8. Cool. Wonder why he doesn't offer one as an accessory - like the one people are buying above. Hell, I don't know anything about running a business. But seems like you'd want to capture as much revenue as possible.
  9. I should amend what I said. Looks like they no longer include a belt clip with their timers. Just checked their site. Just comes with a silicon case and a lanyard. Back when I ordered in November, they were including the belt clip.
  10. When did you order yours? I bought mine fairly early on - in November of last year.
  11. Here is what came with mine. It's perfectly fine for what it does. Just doesn't have that extra ability to re-orient the timer for easier viewing.
  12. Mine came with a belt clip. The big difference is the lack of a hinge. Not a huge deal. But the hinge does make it easier to flip the timer up to read the screen. But is it worth $25 for that little convenience? I think so. But I wouldn't argue with someone who disagreed.
  13. When I sent one of my previous Shadow 2s in to Cajun, they were just trying out a new method of cuts. They said they had seen some slides cracking (it wasn't clear if they were referring to their own work). But they were clearly concerned with what the cuts could do in terms of durability.
  14. Works great. My current limited gun has a metal grip. But the previous one was plastic. In terms of draw/release, I couldn't tell a difference. Both come out of the holster quite smoothly.
  15. I move around a lot - Production, Single Stack, Limited, Carry Optics. But I'm just in this to have fun. Not going to be a national champion, an area champion , or even a state champion. So if I get the urge to change divisions, I change. But if I were a more serious shooter, I'd be sticking with one division.
  16. In my case, I just tightened my screws too much when I installed them. That messed with the integrity of the threads. The screws would loosen a little and I would tighten them a little more. Then, during a stage run, the optic flew off the gun. Fun times. Now, I tighten the screw until it's just past snug. Thanks for the link to the chart. Think I'll use that for a more scientific approach to the installation of my next optic - after I get my slide back from milling.
  17. Just wondering if the manufacturer's specs take into account the fact that you'll be mounting in aluminum instead of steel.
  18. Of the four that I had to ship back for repairs - I think they paid for shipping on one of them. I think they felt bad that two of my 3 units were down at the same time. But I would agree - considering how frequently these things are going out for competition shooters, perhaps they should be paying the postage.
  19. They include a belt clip with the unit - though it's not a great design. I found this mentioned on another thread. Perfect design. Shooterstoolbox.com
  20. And just be careful when you attach your optic to the plate. Remember that these are aluminum plates - and you can damage the threads if you overtighten them. I speak from embarrassing experience.
  21. My Bull Shadow is off being milled for a red dot at this moment. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Shadow 2 I was shooting in CO.
  22. Great timers. I've owned several other brands. They all do what they are supposed to do. But the form factor, replaceable battery (downfall of the CED timers), and simple interface make this one my favorite.
  23. They've been tough to find for a while. When I was trying to add several black pouches a few months ago, no one had them. You can order stuff directly from the Guga Ribas website. Shipping was pretty fast when I did that, though it did add to the price.
  24. So true. I'm still hoping the SRO proves to be reliable once it works some kinks out. But I won't be surprised if it encounters the same problems all the others have. The serious competition shooters really put these things to the test.
  25. Thought the show was great. No idea how accurate it was, but the scenes with the Russian officials attempting to avoid taking the blame for anything were just fantastic. And now I find myself wanting one of those shirts with the phrase: "3.6 roentgen. Not great. Not terrible."
