    Trip to the ER

My mom (78) just went through a surgery to get a big stone taken care of. The gas passer told her if she never wanted to see him again to drink a couple of beers every night. Supposed to reduce the chance of getting them by 41%. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/sugary-drinks-might-raise-kidney-stone-risk-but-beer-may-help/. She has a case in the fridge now, always listen to your doc.
  2. I'd appreciate any support for my buddies son Taylor. He had a bad day in AFG last Thursday. His EOD crew was a firefight with the bad guys. They ran out of rifle ammo and were down to pistols. They decided to bail and head for cover and he hit an IED. Great kid and a really tight family. Send some positive thoughts his way. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/taylormorris Thanks for the BE support! Stew
  3. I dumped my iPhone for a Droid a month ago. The iPhone was great but AT&T service was really bad. With Verizon I can make a call at my house without standing out in the yard. I found the same apps for the droid that I had on the iPhone (weather, stocks, etc). I have it connected to exchange at work which works well but the iPhone interface was better in my opinion. Text messaging is about a break even between the two. Visual voice mail also works well on the droid. The droid battery time is better than the iPhone. My iPhone wouldn't make it through a heavy work day but the droid can take me into the evening. The battery on the droid can be swapped out without sending it in for a replacement which I think is a big plus. Overall I'd give Apple the thumbs up for best interface design but they screwed up by picking a single carrier for the service. Having a 100k apps and not being able to make a phone call is pretty useless. Stew

    Drunk Driving?

Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar. After last call the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity in which he tried his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car and fall into it. He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off. Finally, he started the car, switched the wipers on and off--it was a fine, dry summer night--, flicked the blinkers on and of a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other patrons' vehicles left. At last, when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled Out and drove slowly down the road. The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and administered a Breathalyzer test. To his amazement, the Breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, "I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This Breathalyzer equipment must be broken." "I doubt it," said the truly proud driver. "Tonight I'm the designated decoy."
  5. I load Zero 230 FMJ to 1.255 OAL with 4.0 gr of Clays. Came in at 172 PF out of a 5" Kimber at the last area match.
  6. Sounds pretty close to my load. 1.255 OAL, I ended up with 4.0 gr of Clays out of a 5" Kimber using 230 gr Zero FMJ. That got me to the low 170's PF.
  7. baa, Keep buying Walmart Winchester White box. Post the name of the seller and we will make sure to get this Dillon contraband off of the free market so nobody else is tempted to load their own. If you are not biting on that one, get the 650. I screwed around with the SDB for a year before getting a 650. Good learning experience but a waste of a lot of time. With the 650 you can lock down for an hour, kick out a ton of ammo and spend your spare time at the range, not the reloading room.

I'll get a pic from him and post it.

    Deer Vs Car

My bro-in-law just retrofit the local ambulances with a front bumper. Their only requirement was they didn't want to take their foot off the gas if there was a critter in the road. They ended up with a v-shape snowplow type design. Initial product test worked well, no dents to the front and all the scraps ended up in the ditch.
  10. Brown - $7.75/k and in your backyard. I have the same labeler. Stew
  11. I just passed this one along to the management team at my company. I'll see how many passed the test Monday. The whole point is to get out of the box..

  13. I've got one on my 650 and it works great. I started with the Dillon Powder Check but it wouldn't hold the setting for more than a few rounds. With the lockout die if you under/over charge it prevents the press from cycling until you yank the case out.
  14. I went through 3 Linksys routers before wising up and getting a Netgear. It's been solid for the last 2 years. The Linksys would hang, not renew dhcp and all kinds of little quirks.

Mine did the same for awhile even with one shot. Seemed to break in after a couple of reloading sessions and it works great now.
  16. I just picked up a couple Promags in 9, 40's are in stock. If they are junk, I'm out $13 ea: Natchez
  17. I was having the same problem when I got the 650. Tightening up the shell plate some took care of it. I still get one flipped every 100 rounds or so.
  18. The last time I dropped it down the hole I stuck some gum on the end of a screwdriver and it popped right out. Could be a Martha Stewart thing.
  19. I started out around 4.3 gr of WST with a 230gr MG. I was teetering on 165PF so I bumped to 4.5 gr. I'll chrono this weekend to see where it is but it should put me up in the 170's somewhere. I'm shooting a 5" Kimber. I load to 1.250-1.255 oal.
  20. Check out Brian's Store he has left handed holsters and mag pouches. I got the 560 with a belt loop converter that has worked great with my Kimber. Stew
  21. I put one on my 650 and it works like a champ. It locks the press up so you can't advance the shell plate on no charge/double charge. The beep from the Dillon checker sounds to close to the Primer alert and was hard to keep calibrated.
  22. Here's Matt Burkett's schedule: http://www.burkettvideo.com/ top link on the left nav. Stew

    Censorship

Here's a link to Bob Parson's Blog: http://www.bobparsons.com/ Bob is the founder of Godaddy. I'm sure we will see some more entries on the Super Bowl commercial later. Check out his Feb 4th entry, talking about politically correct Marines, pretty good read.
  24. I just picked up the Peltor Tactical 6 with the backband (let's you wear a cap) from Cabelas. There were around $70. I haven't used them yet but they are pretty comfortable. Stew
  25. I picked up a 560 (paddle) from Brian and got the little $16 adapter to convert to belt. I use the paddle for carry and the belt for competition. I was using a Kydex holster before, it was no comparison to the 560. Stew
