  1. A fine time was had by all! Folks, if you're remotely interested you should come check this out next year.
  2. Reviving thread....PinShoot 2022 starts Monday!
  3. Attended my first Pin Shoot last week. Can't remember the last time I had this much fun at a shooting match!
  4. Congrats to him! 15 stages of soggy fun in one day...
  5. 85 Pts 13.7 Sec SS Calc sez 88%...
  6. Hyder just hung a 12.0 HF in Open at the Buckeye Blast. 4.5 seconds
  7. Rangemaster at one point told us we were averaging 3 minutes 45 seconds turn for the entire bay. I know as soon as resetters were clear and shooters foot hit the start position a "Make Ready" command was given. Shooters always have to have something to gripe about I guess.
  8. I've always enjoyed the stages the years I've went. They were deceptively difficult; being a national level competition I usually pushed too hard.
  9. Sierra does do tours. Or at least they did several years ago, and I for one, found it fascinating.
  10. Jack: I was first out of 130 shooters. I'm Master in IDPA and USPSA. ARG: isn't really mine either, but, -I'd never shot an EIC match before, -it only took a little over an hour total, -it was FREE, -I should be getting 4 Leg points towards Distinguished if I ever decide to go down that road.
  11. Cd, I just shot an AF EIC match, see post below. I'm retired AF and didn't help set it up, but if you PM your email I'll see if I can put you in touch with the guys who did.
  12. Guess it depends on what your objectives are. High quality stages are almost always appreciated by shooters. If you do order of finish prizes you will attract more top shooters, "what can I fit on my busy calendar that's a possible return on investment". If you reward class winners you encourage people to work harder and improve, but also attract sandbaggers. If you do random draw you'll be more appealing to average, "I know I'll never win" shooters. "Trophy only" gets back to the all about the shooting experience. For many folks I think it's about the geography, "I'm shooting my Section Champs no matter what the prize structure." FWIW the 3-gun Pro-Am at Rockcastle started out with if you shoot Pro match you compete for an order of finish prize table. If you shoot Amateur match, you go to random draw prize table. Shooter's choice and preference. They historically fill up the match very fast.
  13. Shot an introductory Excellence in Competition pistol match this week at Wright Patt AFB (amazing indoor range BTW, thank you taxpayers). We shot issued M-9s at 25 yards. 10 rounds slow fire, 2 strings of 5 rounds in 2 1/2 minutes each. 10 rounds timed fire, 2 strings of 5 rounds in 20 seconds each. 10 rounds rapid fire, 10 strings of 1 round, all double action, 4 seconds each. All starting from low ready, target the NRA B-8 bullseye. Thanks to 88 Security Forces Squadron Combat Arms for taking time out from conducting training and qualifications to make this happen!
  14. Maybe his or her bullet feeder ran out without being noticed...
  15. I doubt you will find consensus. Clearly, some people love them and feel they make a difference. OTOH, plenty of championships are being won with poly gripped guns.

  17. Woohoo! Got a Ruger w laser coming my way! Some days I'd rather be lucky than good. Thanks to all the match staff AND Shooters Supply!
