  1. You are welcome to it. I was discussing those very triggers with in of my smiths when we realized new triggers were hard to come by we out in the pre travel set screw. The trigger is much improved with it to be sure

I used a 6x32 set screw to match the over travel set screw and it is too big. If I were to do it again I would likely use a 4x40 There is no real pressure on the set screw but the tighter thread is better for adjustment and let's face it. After it is set there is no real need to adjust it.

  2. The PVC route holds 4 tool heads for me now and took less than 2 hours excluding the trip to home depot and also holds the powder measures.

I have nothing to gain and freely share the idea, heck I cannot even claim it to be mine exclusively. I am sure someone came up with it long before I did. These machines have been around for a long time and there have been people smarter than I the entire duration.

  3. Hammer and sear is run of the mill 1911 unless you have series 80 safety parts.

If you do have series 80 parts, you have the option of replacing the safety parts with a shim (forgot who made those a one point) or leave the parts in.

    Trigger is definetly Para specific.

This is the part you want to eliminate the Series 80 stuff: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=13121/Product/TJ-S-1911-SERIES-80-TO-SERIES-70-CONVERSION-SHIMS

In addition to what everybody else said, be advised that the slot for the sear spring is a bit lower on the para frame than the typical 1911 so any replacement could be a bit too short.

    Later,

    Chuck

Series 80 parts have been removed and the shim did come from brownells. I Removed them when I installed the trigger adjustment set screw pictured below.

I attempted for fit a couple. Hammers and sears I had from some STI take outs that didn't seem to fit. Thus the questions.

Any leads on a new trigger?

  4. Where is the best place to buy these parts? I looked through Brownells but didn't find what I was looking for.

The gun I am buying for is a Pre-PXT extractor Canadian built P-16 Limited.

  5. I actually like the Small primer 45 brass. I load primarily 9 40 and 223 with only about 4-5K of 45 each year. With over half of those being Small primer. So I put the large priming system in the 1050 less and less. Even when I put another 1050 on the bench I think I will leave it dedicated to small primers.

  6. Ming- That sounds like what Im wanting. Its a lot easier to raise it a little if needed.

Retread- Thats the one I was looking at. Was hoping someone here was using it.

    Thanks.

Mine is on order and t he two open rimfire shooters one state champ and one Top 10 shooter both use the mount.

    Hope you like it.

  7. Well gang this little journey started the first time for me in the early 90's shooting limited and I remember makingC class back then? Today I went looking for results of my Saturday match and sure enough it shows C class.

I knew I had a decent match but I didn't even realize I was close to the C class.

I suspect B will be much more difficult for me and I seriously doubt it will sneak up in me like C.

    Cheers.

  8. Congratulations on the near miss. I know the pickup is damaged but as long ad you walk away without a scratch it is a near miss in my book.

    Cheers

  9. RedValk, There will be some variance in the amount of taper crimp applied to pistol brass that is not trimmed consistently. I have never had an issue that I could relate to crimp variance.

With 40 I do full length size any range pickups to deal with the Glock Belly issue; which is a bulge at the bottom of the case from the unsupported chamber in the Glock. If it comes out of my para I dod not even mess with that. I just clean the brass and poor it back into the case feeder with spent primers and all. At the end of the revolution in the press it has been completely 'reloaded'

Cheers and welcome to the board!.
