Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Do your counting in your visualization and memorize the cadence. Then, when its time to shoot, playback that rhythm. 1-2-3-4-5-6 becomes bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-bang. I find myself tapping my finger before I shoot. You can test yourself in practice with Bill drills or with Can You Count, which forces you to do it 4 times.
  2. Same answer. Don't count your shots. You have to program in exactly what you are going to do. If you are thinking your way through a stage, you are going slower than you could.
  3. I knew those cameras were a good idea and thank you to the RO who volunteered to monitor them
  4. Fewer than last year and on par with every SSN result posted on the USPSA website. Less than 4%.
  5. If your glasses continue fogging throughout the day, angle the lenses to allow air flow while maintaining protection. Taking off your hat helps with this, too.
  6. Yeah, when I chronoed it out of mine it made 1350ish. The 1250 test number given is out of a 4" barrel. Regardless, with this ammo on offer, we have to draw either of two conclusions. 1) A major ammo manufacturer is selling ammo that will blow up your gun. 2) This stuff isn't so dangerous that it can't be talked about around impressionable new shooters. I wouldn't run range brass in major through an unsupported chamber, but 9Major isn't a WMD.

  8. This is overwrought and wrong. Winchester sells factory ammo that comfortably makes major out of a 34. Its not pleasant to shoot, but the gun is fine and you don't have to wear a bomb suit.
  9. Bearing in mind that you are shooting IPSC production, the question you need to ask yourself is "Do I want a 5 pound trigger pull once or every time?" The IPSC Production rules require a 5 pound first trigger pull and thus strongly favor the metal DA/SA guns.
  10. You shot 81% of available points after penalties in 255 seconds. The guys in contention to win your division shot similar points in less than half of the time. If you had shot every single available A, you'd still have lost to the winner by 45%. You have to go faster.
  11. How many rounds do you fire outside of matches?
