Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. If you can trim the support and the feeder tube I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work.
  2. Makes sense and should work. That's not one of the problems I had so I can't say based on experience.
  3. You may be lucky and get one that works. Some people do. If you're not, I can't begin to tell you how sorry you'll be. I have a bad one. It has over 150,000 rounds loaded on it. In the the three years I've had it I have never had a run of 100 rounds where I didn't have to take something apart to clear a jam. Not once. I've spent hours on the phone with Hornady and more hours watching youtube videos about how to fix it.(There's a reason why Hornady has hours of youtube videos about their problems and Dillon doesn't) I've had problems with every part of this press, primer feed, powder measure, case feeder, and the press itself. Its a bad design, poorly executed. My advice? If you have a problem with it,return it immediately. Actually,my advice? Dillon 650.
  4. I've got one. I've had lots of trouble with the whole setup (see http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=199791) but the case feeder has been by far the worst. Personally I wouldn't buy one but if I did I'd want to see it load a run of 100 rounds without jamming first. Other people's experience has been completely the opposite, though, so you should ask to see it operating first.
  5. Actually its worse than that. I only started keeping track a year or so ago but at that time it was averaging a stoppage every 17 rounds. Not all of those required actually taking it apart to clear. Its a lot better now. Sometimes I can get it to do 50 rounds before I have to stop. Maybe it just needed to be broken in :-)
  6. Believe it. I've been keeping track. I've had the thing for about 3 1/2 years. I've spent hours on the phone with Hornady. I've spent more hours watching youtube videos about making these work. (Did you ever wonder why there are hours and hours of youtube video about how to correct problems with this press?) I've applied many of the modifications and fixes that are suggested. I've had problems with just about every part. I've corrected most of them. Most of the time now its problems with the case feeder or the priming system. I know lots of people really like this press but there are many who can't get theirs to work the way it should. Trust me, its not always because they're mechanically inept. I think that sometimes its just a lemon. There are some facets of the design that just do not allow for the poor manufacturing execution I'm seeing. I probably should have returned it but I guess I'm stubborn. I'm determined to fix it so it works properly. (I do have a 650 on order btw.)
  7. I have a Hornady LNL progressive press that I've loaded somewhat more than 150k rounds with. I load 9mm, 45 acp, 223, and 30-06 with it. I have never once had a run of 100 rounds where something didn't jam, break, or go out of adjustment requiring dismantling of some part of the press to correct.
  8. Received mine today. It went right in and works great. THANKS!!
  9. Pinman, Do you know if the MK7 is on the Maryland handgun roster? Rocky, we are working on that right now. This new legislation O'Malley is bringing to the table is rough, but we are submitting samples of the current.y imported K100 and P1 to the roster board. PM me if I can be of service. Excellent. The local shop across the river in Virginia has one that I want to snap up as soon as I can. Great pistol. Thanks
  10. Pinman, Do you know if the MK7 is on the Maryland handgun roster?
  11. This one doesn't have a dovetail for the front like modern CZs. The sight is staked on similar to a mil-spec 1911. The sight tenon goes from the top of the slide and through the barrel bushing and serves to hold the bushing in place. I've replaced the rear sight with one that has windage and elevation adjustments so minor misalignment of the front sight won't necessarily be a problem. I'd like a cross dovetail because of the wide variety of aftermarket sights available. Mostly I need a front sight that will stop falling off.
  12. Not to hijack the thread but could I have contact information of the gunsmith? I'm getting a little tired of staked on sights falling off. Mine is a '91 and the gunsmith never mentioned any lack of material when he did mine. It is a cross dove tail w/fiber optic. Not sure of brand or dove tail dimensions.
  13. Can a cross dovetail be cut for the front sight in one of these? I have 1986 pre-B CZ85. I've been told that there isn't enough metal in the slide above the bushing.
