Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. you can always put a two stage rigger on it: http://www.x-tremeshooting.com/index.php?page=Win%20mod%2070
  2. A secondary idle stop screw from Holley works great and is self tensioning in the JP block Where can I buy the idle screw? probably Holley or QuickFuel, but I wouldn't bother ordering one, just cut the end off an 8-32 screw and slot it with a dremel cut off wheel about 5 threads deep then spread it slightly with a chisel, install with a flat blade screw driver. The spread part will hold adjustment once its in about 1/2 way, add a little Teflon tape for a complete seal.

  4. I bought into the scout rifle concept in the 90s, and built a short action m70 to meet Cooper's recommendations. If I had to do it again today I would look at a kimber action, 1-4 conventional scope w/cattail (lit #4 reticle), AICS/Alpha detachable mags, in a McMillan Edge. DBM eliminates the need for long eye relief, and the 1-4 extends the useable range considerably. I still find ching slings the go-to for any field rifle. For caliber I'd consider 7-08, 260, or 6.5 Creedmoor.
  5. what works for highpower: Best quality free floated barrel, pinned rear sight, Geissele, Knights, etc. trigger, and massive amounts of ammo to learn how to call the wind.
  6. my CCO has been 100% for about 1k mix of both 230gr gold dots and 200gr LSWC @850 using the factory mags.
  7. I've got a CCO and love it. If you take into account the build quality and the parts they use, its one of the best values out there.
  8. they live fine and hold zero when slide mounted on .45 bullseye guns, I would check the dot moa, some are quite large.
  9. +1, FA encourages you to do something you should not, and when the end of the pawl breaks its a pita to get the rifle apart.
  10. I've got the CDI and the Surgeon, much prefer the Surgeon for mag support and the lever can be tripped while maintaining a grip. I'm using 10 rnd Alpha mags in both with good results.
  11. really the only extra gear you need is a sling and something to go prone on so you dont bang up your knees and elbows. It is a great program for those that are new to rifle shooting, and a good excuse for the more experienced to spend the weekend at the range.
  12. Vortex sparc on my ar-22, 2moa dot works fine for me.
  13. check the eye relief of your scope at min and max power, I had to go with the Larue SPRE to get the scope forward enough. You can order the Larue mounts in a bolt on configuration instead of the levers.
  14. since I'm always behind in my reloading, I use them to quickly count out 2-300 cases to load the morning of the match. Hold the plastic tray with one hand and drop a couple of handfulls of brass over it with the other usually fills it 80%+
  15. any feedback on the STI Sentry in 9mm?
